It's 78 degrees here, which breaks the previous record for March 1:

Record high- 77° F in 1992, record low, -6° F in 1890

Last year- High 37°F, Low 21° F
Normal - High 49° F, Low 28° F

It's really nice outside. :) I want to start planting my vegetable garden, but it's really too early. Anything could get frozen at this point, even cold hardy stuff like peas and carrots.

It's been a real snowstorm here for two days: freezing cold, tons of snow and harsh wind. Walking to school and back is a struggle, and quite dangerous, since there is ice under the snow. And the wind! My poor ears! So I feel rather blown away. ;) And tired, after removing three billion tons of snow from our driveway.

Our "official" high for my area (DFW airport's high) was 93F. Some areas not too far away got up to 97F. Normal high should be 62F.

We beat a 107 year old record by four degrees today. It was too freaking hot for March 1st.

Geez, Eruname - that is too hot for March 1st. Heck, much too hot for April 1st I'd imagine. I thought we had it bad with mid-80s today.

Bright and sunny with cold winds, temperature hovering around 32 degrees F/0 Centigrade. A slight fall of snow brought my town to a standstill yesterday as is always the case, you would think the road authorities in the UK believe we are situated in the Sahara.
93F? 78F?
:Q

The autumn rains have started. Much better than the summer heat, although still a little depressing. We need a lot of rain though - we're still in drought.

It was 70 degrees F when I flew back to Colorado from my trip to DC on Monday. And then Tuesday it was even hotter! I was happy though, I was so sick of it being in the 40s and 50s...not cold enough for it to snow, but too cold for it to be enjoyable. Now it's cooler again, which is kind of depressing because I'm SO ready for spring.

35 degrees F here, overcast, with light snow changing back and forth to light drizzle. Pretty typical March weather here, and yesterday was about the same.

I agree, 78 F and above is freakishly warm, even for the south central part of the States. 93 F ?!! Gaghhh!! No Texas for me, it sounds worse than Florida!! :Q

I could use some Spring, though. March in Wisconsin is drab - dirty icky crusty snow and mud on the ground, and sand everywhere from the winter road clearing. We need some good cleansing rainfalls. And, I just found out that even we are in a mild drought - for the last two years, rainfall has been lower than usual, which is bad news for our lake levels.

Funny, winter's pretty much over here and we've apparently begun our slow ascent into the 90s. High of 80 here today.

It was around 60 through the weekend and yesterday here. Absolutely perfect, no wind, no storms....just beautiful. Then last evening a storm rolled in, of which I took some fantastic pics that I plan on posting soon, and it rained. Today its 50 so far and over cast a bit. I must say that where I live, the weather is fantastic 90% of the time, no tornados, no hurricanes...and even no earthquakes.

Curses Ara-Anna with typical sucky weather.............:D:P

Arizona DOES have lovely weather - I remember when my sister and her family lived there for several years. SIGH. Even hot days there are gloriously comfortable - no humidity, clear bright skies, refreshing winds. They actually turned off the air conditioning at night, the temps dropped a good 20 to 30 degrees most of the time, and sleeping was cool and you even used blankets!

Now she lives 20 miles away from me and suffers like I do........

;)

The high is nearly 30°F lower today than yesterday.

They always say about Missouri: If you don't like the weather, just wait a day or two. It'll change.

We are in a "moderate" drought where I live: http://www.drought.unl.edu/dm/monitor.html

My parents who live in the southwest corner of Missouri, are right near the border of the "extreme" drought. They spend most of their free time clearing brush and twigs away from their house, so that if there is a wild fire, they have some hope of saving it. I don't really see how that will help, but that's what they do.

It might rain this weekend. I hope the deepest drought spots get rained on first.

Cool (by Queensland standards anyway) and rainy - but the rain is only falling slightly and missing the dams. It's a little depressing - it'd be better if it just rained heavily for a bit. However, it is better than the summer heat - I'm getting my first good nights' sleeps of the year.

That's always said about Texas as well. Somehow I'm thinking this is said of a lot of areas.
