Here's my new favourite site, an inexhaustible fount of cosmic wisdom ;)

Edit: here's the actual link - Wisdom of Chopra /end edit

From the site description:

Quote:
It has been said by some that the thoughts and tweets of Deepak Chopra are indistinguishable from a set of profound sounding words put together in a random order, particularly the tweets tagged with "#cosmisconciousness". This site aims to test that claim! Each "quote" is generated from a list of words that can be found in Deepak Chopra's Twitter stream randomly stuck together in a sentence.

Just press the "receive more wisdom" button to generate a random quote.

Here's some of the enlightening gems I received:

Quote:
"Your body requires an expression of knowledge"

Quote:
"Everything explores intrinsic sexual energy"

Quote:
"Perception heals unbridled life"

Quote:
"Elephants are llamas"
Okay, I'm not sure about this one...

Quote:
"The world embraces total sexual energy"

See? You don't have to be smart to be wise!

Oops - it appears that in my excitement I forgot to post the actual link. I've just corrected that in the original post.

And remember, my children, The world Heals Visible Joy.

Quantum physics transcends intrinsic joy.

Ah, yes, so true.

This guy really seems to like his sexual energy.

"Our consciousness creates self-righteous creativity"

I like the idea of self-righteous creativity. :P

It's true. Paralleled photons would never work.

I think everyone already knows that, though.

Oh yeah. Don't get me started on parallelled photons. :rage:

I just noticed the "quiz" link at the top of the page - it gives you a quote and you get to guess if it's real or a random computer-generated quote. I stopped at about 20, and got about 75% right. The fact that I could get so many wrong speaks volumes - either about the incredible sophistication of the programming, or of the fact that a lot of what Mr. Chopra writes is specious nonsense. Being a nice guy who wants to think the best of everyone, I won't speculate which of the true is more accurate.

I would be very interested to hear how you all score, though :poke:

I got 16 out of 25. That's a 64%. I guess that shows how much I listen to New Age crap.

I think it should be: "Unbridled destiny requires self power."

Or "Self power bridles unrequired destiny"?

*tries to think of a situation where any of these would actually be useful*

Nope. *sigh*

How about this: "Good health fascinates boundless mortality"

:D

My first post on B77 in...I don't know...a year? This seemed the perfect thread for a new beginning.

Or should I say: "Cosmic sexual energy powers llamas and new beginnings."

Cosmic sexual energy powers all sorts of stuff but he has a point in that those are likely the two most important things.

Well, yes, llamas and new beginnings. They are the two most important things!

Besides, "Everything embraces new timelessness!"

I cheated - two of the quotes above are genuine Chopra. Can you figure out which ones are genuine without cheating or googling?
