This was mentioned on a sc-fi fantasy book blog I was reading, and I had to post it here.

Raising the Perfect Child Through Guilt and Manipulation

Just the write-up made me laugh out loud.

It did surprise me to see on a Sci-fi/fantasy blog, but then, the blogger was a mom, and seemed especially delighted with this book, so  :)

My library is in the process of acquiring this book. Not that I need it- I'm pretty much done with guilting and manipulating.

There's always room for guilt and manipulation. Or does that just work on me?

Kids are like arrows. Aim, release, and then let them fly on their own. My job is done.... except for watching the flight. And funding college. :blackeye:

M is for the Massive Guilt she gave me,
O is for the Outbursts that she had,
T is for her Total Domination,
H is How she drove out dear old Dad,
E is for the Eunuch that she made me,
R is my Respect she stripped away,
Put them all together, they spell MOTHER,
The reason that I'm so #*$@!ed up today!

I would say more like bowling balls. You give them an initial push, a little spin, and hope they don't end up in the gutter.

Both metaphors need to allow for a longer guidance time, IMO. :) Maybe those inflatable gutter guards sometimes used in bowling? :D

I use body english for terminal guidance. This looks silly in bowling, but just plain weird in archery. :D

I expect many wives/partners to buy this book, mothers or not.
