Ok so! Equilibrium was reached with this:
Quote:
He is brave ever made. Abnormal findings is that compared to what happened nothing.

I have thirty Dúnedain and two half-Elves to back me, Jude.

Or in a different world, I could find... well, a lot of people who'd egg us on to fight, and several who are training me, but another salmon fight would be a duel. No, wait! All the children would hold you down while I hit you with a salmon - especially if they got a turn to hit! :)

The quote eludes me. Something about someone - probably Sam - being the bravest companion the speaker could ask for, and that what happens afterward will not change that?
That sounds weird even to me. I'm off to get some sleep.

Hah. You think your Dúnedain and half-elves scare me when I've got these two on my side?

We may need a hint for your quote, Alatar. Is the gist of the translation the same, or is it totally different with a couple of tell-tale words left over?

I've been pondering this, and the closest I've come up with so far is "Courage is found in unlikely places". But I ran it through the Translation Party and came up with something different, so that can't be it

Well, if it's from The Hobbit, it's probably Gandalf about Bilbo, but I've been searching through and can't find it.

So yes, hint please!

Jude, I don't care whether or not you're scared of me. Who salmons whom can be decided in trial by combat, just like me and Celsa over the ocean moat.

Its from the Hobbit. Its not spoken by a character "in" the Hobbit as such. In fact its spoken by the Narrator and most believe it to be one of the crucial points in the book. (Tolkien included)

That helps a great deal! Let's see...this seems to fit quite well with the words left in the equilibrium:

"Going on from there was the bravest thing he ever did. The tremendous things that happened afterwards were as nothing compared to it."

:LMAO: That's what I love about the Translation Party - you never know what you'll end up with?

Could this possibly be Smaug boasting about his armour?

Well, it's from THE HOBBIT, again... the first word is from the original but not in the same place, and two others have barely changed!
