This may be of interest to North American fans of good coffee:

Espresso map

Someone who has obviously travelled extensively on this continent has made a note of places where they serve good espresso.

Sadly, nothing in Ottawa gets a mention :bawl: There is one place in Montreal, which I might check out next time I go there. A couple of places in Vancouver (hi vison!) And one in Saskatoon of all places. Who knew?

In the U.S. it looks like most of the good places are clustered in the west, and then spread evenly along the centre and east.

Well, I'm not a coffee fan, so I can't say as I care too much...BUT there's nothing in Ohio either. So, on general principle, I'm going to pout. :pout:

Yeah, the dot in Saskatoon took me by surprise.

Yet another map where the continent doesn't exist past Montreal or Maine. :pout:

Didn't Starbucks start in Seattle? I am not surprised there is a cluster of coffee joints on the west coast.

Not a fan of it, myself. Guess I enjoyed chocolate milk enough while growing up that once I was old enough to OD on caffeine, the taste did nothing for me. It's why I don't like alcohol either, my mind will only accept soda. :scared:

I guess it's not meant as an exhaustive guide, but just based on his own experiences during his travels.

There are two places in Ottawa that would qualify to be placed on the map, but they're not actually coffee shops, so they would be easy to miss if you're here for a couple of days and try to research espresso joints while you're here.

There were a couple in Colorado that are near me. I had heard of one of them. I'm not a huge coffee fan either, though, I have to say. I drink tea every morning but I only have coffee when I really need a caffeine boost. Otherwise it gives me jitters.

Cool map, though. :)

That's all most blogs are, I'm not knocking him or his exhaustive drinking experiences. ;)

You can always google for the best cup of joe in your area. I googled for the best cup of hot chocolate in my area and got .... my favorite cafe. One that I stumbled upon when I first got here. Go figure.

"best cup of hot chocolate" <your area>

If a cafe has been named the best of something in a newspaper or TV poll, you can be sure they will have it on their website.

I bet it's a Canadian bias. :pout: Like how google maps only had street views for big american cities.

Except that just this week I saw my own house on there. :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Maybe the coffee revolution will be next, Jude. :P

EDITED cuz I put the wrong name. Fail. :thumbsdown

If I look at my old neighbourhood on google maps, I can see a picture of my dad walking Licorice. :w00t:

 :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I am actually really jealous, because I had hoped to see Jesse and I on one of our mail runs. :D The stills were taken on a sunny day when this town and our house could hardly look more beautiful, so I ain't complaining, but that would have been a cherry on top!

Laureanna, what does ttfa stand for? The first thing that comes to mind is depressing. :scared:

*E*, it means "ta ta for now" as in "good-bye". I put it up about a year ago when I decided to stopped posting for a few months. Evidently you are the first to notice it. :P

Shouldn't it then be "ttfn"?

No, I've noticed it all along, just didn't ask. I wondered if it meant "ta ta for always," but that didn't make sense.
