I was sitting outside in the yard when it felt like a largish burrowing animal was trying to push up the old railway ties that make the pathway to the back deck. I was surprised by how long it went on for.
I ran downstairs to where my nephew and my friend's son were redoing the basement floor. "Did you feel the earth move?" I asked.
"No," they said.
Five minutes later, they reported one of my nephew's friends had text-messaged him about the earthquake. (HAH! I was right!)
Later, I got a call from my ex-room mate, Julie. Since Sundridge is closer to Ottawa and Quebec, she said pictures were rattling against the wall, and it sounded like an elephant was stomping through the house!
