Does your city have a parking system as cool as this?

In Ottawa we sure don't!

Oh, really? :halo:

Weeeeell, our family names are Hodovan, Bolvari, and (a new one I discovered at this last family reunion!) Sipos, meaning "fife player or piper." :D Want me to continue?

Wow! That's amazing. Are you sure it isn't something out of a sci fi movie?

Interesting that the cool technology can be run at comparative prices to other garages - that leads me to think that it may be the way of the future. OTOH, parking can be pretty expensive. I glance around the Melbourne CBD parking and am glad there's a good public transport system.

Well, yes, we have several. First time I heard about it was some years ago. As fas as I remember it was in the magazine of the car drivers association ( ADAC over here) - but that's really old news for me. ( At least four years....)

for example at Dresden:
http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?tit ... 0527120024

And there are several in Munich I know of - only for people who live there.

I know there is one at VW-City in Wolfsburg. And some hotels use them.

here is the company that sells some:
http://www.herrmannhieber.de/automatisc ... steme.html

so go on, get your own :P

Funny thing - when I check Wikipedia, there is a german entry about automatic parking systems with the whole parking system explained, but no corresponding page on the english wiki. (Edith says: there's a small part explained on the Wiki entry for multi-storey car park)

And something else: in that video you linked, the car has an hungarian license plate, but the language she uses at the automatic counter is german.. :D
