Don't know why Ang didn't start a thread like this here.

We definitely need one.

Here's my random observation of the day:

Brits don't write return addresses on their letters. We've started getting Christmas cards for the old woman who used to live here. She passed away in the hospital over a year ago. I would like to send the cards back to the sender but because no one puts a return address on the envelope, they'll go on thinking this woman is still alive.

Open a bank account in her name. Use the cards as ID.

I wish some Americans would realize that just because they can squeeze into an article of clothing doesn't mean they should wear it. :suspicious:

I think that's a worldwide phenomenon. ;)

.
.

My pronunciations are already starting to change! :Q It's only been 7 months! Whilst reading, I read the word 'tomato' and in my head it sounded like 'tomahto' instead of 'tomayto'!

And in some parts of the world, they also think the whole world needs to know they're wearing underwear. Hence all the tube tops over strapped bras I saw in Serbia a couple years ago (though the women were a little more, uh, on top of things in Belgrade).

College students on the first day of finals week are so amusing.

But that might be just because I'm one of them. Well, no, I don't think I count. I have one final. My friends hate me for that, but it's NOT my fault. I had two, but I aced out of the other one because I had perfect attendance and an A in the class.

That's awesome, Dawnn! Maybe now you can make TED's oatmeal stop hurting.

The lack of return addresses in British letters annoys me too.

My random observation for today is: there's cold air streaming in through the network sockets in the wall (I'm working at the library, sitting right next to the window, and whereas the wall seems to be generally well insulated, there's a thin stream of cold air coming from the network connection sockets... Is that the megabytes whizzing past my hand? :D).

We got another one today for another person...which really can't be possible as the old lady who lived here before lived here for YEARS. I opened it and there's a Toys R Us gift card in it from someone called Grampey Pete! I guess I'll go asking around the street and see if the person lives on the street and Grampey Pete got the wrong house number. I hope I find the person somehow.

You will be assimilated, Eru. :blackeye: Resistance is futile. :D

Jewelsong has lived here for two years now and swore blind she would never use the word 'loo'.

Well, guess what. She does. =:)

Oh, and I always put my return address on my letters.

Yeah, I think I might. :)

It's been too long since I drank Guinness in the only place on earth where it should ever be drunk.

:toast:

I'm seeing Jewel on Thursday pm and can discuss plans with her then.
