I read these books some years ago and would dearly love to read them again.

Once again, I have to have recourse to abe books or alibris, as they seem to be out of print and my local library doesn't have them.

Has anyone else here ever read them? I recall them as being very good, the story of a girl named Chris Guthrie, who lived on a poor croft in Scotland. Heartbreaking at times.

Another book I love is Precious Bane by Mary Webb. Anyone else?
