Remembering
People come and people go,
Like shadows on a sunny day,
Leaving marks on people’s hearts,
For us to hold on to and remember.
We push our lives on so quickly,
Living a lifetime in a moment,
Becoming wrapped up in our own problems,
Hardly ever glancing back,
To think of those who passed on before,
Until at last something happens,
A loved one or friend is taken away,
To make us stop and think.
People come and go so swiftly,
Disappearing on the horizons of time,
Many are forgotten entirely,
And some live on in memories.
Live your life to its fullest,
Never taking a single day for granted,
For one’s life is a very fragile thing,
And can end within a single moment.
Forgive and forget, live, love, and remember.

Waiting for Eternity
Upon the shore she stood at night,
As the moon rose o’er the darkened sea,
With lantern clasped tightly in her hands,
Fearing what had befallen thee.
No whisper of comfort carried in the salty air,
No message written in the stars above,
Nothing to stop the silver streams of tears,
Shed bitterly and yet mourning lost love.
She cursed the starlit waters,
And from her mouth uttered a great cry,
Towards the heavens far overhead,
How cruel of it to take you away and not to let her die.
Alone upon the shore she stood at night,
Dreaming of how it was meant to be,
Alone upon the shore she stood,
Waiting to be reunited with thee…
Waiting for eternity.

Whispers in the Silence
In the silence you hear them,
the voices long past,
throwing words of caution into the wind,
reminiscing of days now gone,
of ancient times not known to us,
of battles fought and celebrations gay,
of betrayals and old loves,
of endless nights and endless days.
By few are they noticed,
and few are there that care,
that take heed to their warnings,
or the knowledge they have to share.
Empires rose and they fell,
like the movement of the tides,
their people passing on,
as sand in the hourglass of time.
Take a moment and listen,
to those that have lived,
for much wisdom can be found,
in the whispers in the silence.

"Morning has broken and I have felt a presence that disturbs
me with the joy of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime of
something far more deeply interfused, whose dwelling is the
light of setting suns, and the round ocean and the living air,
and the blue sky, and in the mind of man; a motion and a
spirit, that impels." -Wordsworth
