That's excellent! If anyone, Christopher has the perfect voice for DEATH. :D I'll have to see if Netflix has these.

I remember watching Wyrd Sisters and Soul Music on ABC years ago....it's too bad we don't have BBC here, cause i really want to watch em again. To be honest, all i remember is Christopher Lee's voice as DEATH. It's not the sort of thing you forget quickly :D :D

I finished Mort today.

You know, if dying meant I got to meet Death, I wouldn't mind so much. He is easily my favourite character from Discworld, more so with every book I read. His love of cats (CATS. CATS ARE NICE.) and the fact that he tried to be a fry cook at Harga's House of Ribs and how sardonic he is . . . everything. :D He's fabulous.

I liked Mort a lot. I enjoyed reading about Death as a character, as more than just someone who turns up when people die. (THEY NEVER INVITE ME TO PARTIES, YOU KNOW.) My only complaint: it was too short!

Starting on Good Omens now!

OMG GOOD OMENS....Mossy, you're reading Good Omens now?? Good Omens is, is....i don't have words to desrcibe it. If the real Apocalypse is that funny, i can't wait for Judegment day :LMAO: But seriously, Neil Gaimen and Terry Pratchett together is just pure genius.

Ineffible genius ;)

Good Omens is easily the best Pratchett book, and I'm a die-hard Discworld devotee. :D I just love the tension between Crowley and Aziraphale. :Wooper:

I bought Wyrd Sisters for about £18.00 or something retarded at Christmas. The animation was a bit of a turn-off for me. Perhaps I've just gotten overused to the shiny swishness of high-budget Japanese productions cleaned up digitally, but to me it looked like it could have been made in flash. Still, I should watch the rest before I pass judgement.

£18.00? That sounds expensive!

What's a normal DVD cost in the UK?

It seems to vary a lot... more like thirteen pounds? I've never seen it on the high street before though, and I don't have PayPal, so I thought that would probably be my best chance to buy it.

£18.00 is damn expensive if you ask me. It comes to about AU$30.....oh, wait, that's how much normal DVD's come for over here. :LMAO: I knew there was a good reason i prefer to import DVDs from Pakistan  :D

Inspired by Mossy, i went to the library and borrowed Good Omens again. I seriously need to BUY this book instead of hijacking the library's one every other month.....

I reckon it's probably more enjoyable the second time around. The first time i was too busy being overwhelmed and confused (and amused ;))

Yay for Going Postal!

Currently on Men at Arms. I love Vimes and Vetinari is one of my favourite characters. I wish I were more like him.

Good Omens was beyond fabulous, but I don't think I really understood the ending. On a bit of a random note, there's a guy on my floor who looks exactly like Crowley.

I guess I never really thought about the ending before. The point always seemed to me to be that Adam was Man incarnate. The apocalypse was for him, but he didn't want it, so his friends, his horsemen, were powerful enough to vanquish the traditional anthropomorphic personifications that had expected to serve him. Even his Dog was wrong. Nobody wanted to fight, Aziraphale and Crowley didn't get into too much trouble, Adam was allowed to carry on as a human for the time being, Anathema managed to come to terms with being a person in her own right but in the end got what she wanted- the sequel- and Tadford was still protected. That seems about right to me, though I haven't read it since a couple of months before Haloween... What was the confusingness?

Incidentaly, the page about the diplomat's son was added at the request of the American publishers. F-A-M-I-N-E doesn't have seven letters. And there was going to be a sequel, "668: Neighbour of the Beast".

And I want photos of your Crowley-guy. :D

This guy sort of reminds me of Aziraphale- not as I pictured him, but as soon as I saw him I thought he could be him.

BTW, I just realised the actor is kind of famous, I think.

What about the ending were you not sure you understood? I'd love a separate discussion thread on this. :)

I read Good Omens such a long time ago I have forgotten most of it. I mainly remember the M25 London orbital being an occult symbol.

Thanks, Pips!

I can't remember what I found confusing. I shall look when I get back to school, which is where my copy of Good Omens.

I looked for a good photo of the guy who looks like Crowley, but I can't find one. However. I shall certainly post one if I do.

Go ahead and start one, Melly. :) What was it you wanted to discuss? The ending of Good Omens?
