This year's prize goes to a brilliant playwright and my own personal favorite, Harold Pinter.

Is anyone a fan of Pinter's plays?

I`m not familiar with Pinter`s work...this is the man who signed a petition to free Slobodan Milosevic, which leaves me to wonder....

...he's also one of the most outspoken critics of the Iraq war.

And whatever his personal beliefs are, his writing is absolutely brilliant.

like I said, I`m not familiar with his writing.....no need to "defend" him, or list pros and cons....
I just said it makes me wonder.....why is one aggression ok, but the other one isn`t, in the mind of this particular Nobel Prize winner....

I wouldn`t say that one should view his writers` brilliance, as separate from his personal beliefs...Nobel Prize is as much about making a statement and politics as it is about awarding someone for doing extraordinary work in their respective field....

His award is a long time coming. This man should have been awarded the Nobel Prize for literature years ago.
