Assuming that the concept of the free spirited muse one is beholden to is false, and based on the understanding that to be able to write well one only requires practice, peace of mind and persistence: I signed myself up for http://www.100words.net/.

The idea is simple: you agree to write 100 words every day, no more, no less - about anything. The only rule: that you have to upload those words daily for a month before the site will share your work with the world.

I’ve signed up to start at the beginning of November. Does anyone else fancy joining me?

Nothing like building up some creative writing discipline.

All the best with that Leoba. :)

I'm not sure I could limit myself to just 100 words. After all, your post to start this thread was only 100 words. It was enought to express a single thought, but not to do it justice. Why limit to 100 words? Can you retract the words on subsequent days? Do the words all run together at the end of the month to a 3000 word short story? Or are they just 30 random diary entries? I think I'd rather just post randomly here, when the muse strikes in her highly random way. There. That's my 100 words. Good nite.

I'm embarrassed to come back to this thread. I accomplished an entire day of this challenge before falling flat on my face. When days start with leaving the flat at 6:30am and can run until getting home at 12:45am in the wee hours of the next morning, with barely a breathing space in-between, there's no time to do such a thing, let alone do it justice. Not all days are like that but I can’t pretend that work hasn’t been manic, I’m running on empty and just don’t have the emotional wherewithal right now.

I guess there’s always next month?

As they say, Life is what happens while you are making plans. You could always post randomly here, then when you have 30 entries, start feeding them into the other website. :D

Hugs for the emotionally wherewithdrawal.
