Right now, I have a bit of a crush on a character from a novel. His name is Comet Jant Shira and he’s a screwed up humanoid junkie, who can fly; from Steph Swanstain’s “Castle” series of books. Jant is the anti-hero of the piece; the immortal Castle Messenger with a messed up past and a pretty messed up drug addicted present. And I find him really really sexy!

Has anyone else read these books? I read the first one, “The Year of Our War” a year or so back, but have only just got around to a re-read before tackling the second of the series: “No Present Like Time” which I’m also enjoying very much. She published book #3 earlier this summer (“The Modern World”) which I must also get my mitts on.

I can’t be the only person who fixates on imaginary characters from time to time (my biggest teenage crushes were on D’Artagnan and Athos from “The Three Musketeers”).

Come on, do tell all and help me feel less alone!

I used to have a crush on Drizzt D'Urden from the Icewind Dale series by RA Salvatore. Dark elves are hot to begin with, but a dark elf that has turned good is even hotter!

I still have a crush on Garion and Prince Kheldar from the Belgariad.

I have to have a crush on a female character I'm writing about if she's gonna get any during the course of the story. I'm cruel like that. :D

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping

Book Faramir's character in Anke Eissmann's water color portrayals.

I'm also rather fond of Sirius Black. Lupin too.

Even though I have great and renewed respect for Snape, I can't really say I have a crush on him.

Hiro Protagonist from Snow Crash is another crush of mine.

I've developed crushes on characters I've written. I've also been revolted by characters I've written. I've even written a protagonist I depise (personality conflict). I try to tell myself that this is a sign I'm on the right track with the story, rather than the right track to insanity.

I thought there was a previous thread somewhere but I couldn't be arsed to search. Ah well. A new character to lust after deserved a new thread IMO. ;)
