I just picked up this book today, written by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith and it is absolutely hysterical. Here's the opening paragraph:

"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. Never was this truth more plain than during the recent attacks at Netherfield Park, in which a household of eighteen was slaughtered and consumed by a horde of the living dead."

I was hooked immediately. It promises me "romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism and thousands of rotting corpses." Anyone else reading it?

I've wanted to read it ever since I first heard about it on NPR but I haven't found it yet.

That sounds funny and interesting! What's the name of the book? (Or is it the thread title?)

My Literature and Sexualities lecturer recommended it...

Then again, he thinks dirty stockings symbolise the vagina.

I'm currently reading it, it's a fairly fast read as I have read P&P before, but additions are frakin brilliant. I have been laughing out loud more than one time, even to the point my kids are like  I keep telling them they need to read it. It's hilarious!

I got the notice from the library yesterday morning and begged Freddy to let us stop by so I could pick it up before we left for Cleveland. So I started reading it last night! :)
