Available in UK - now.
Available in Canada - on Monday.
Available in USA - March 25.

March. MARCH. :thumbsdown

Fine, so I'll pay $10 for shipping from Canada. :bang:

Oddly enough, you can buy the Kindle edition in the US as of today.

I wonder if this is some weird campaign for U.S. customers to switch to Kindle?

In an unrelated mystery, a new collection of non-fiction is listed with a publishing date of last week, but is "available for pre-order".

Well, it was supposed to be released in Canada today, and now the release date says "26 November". And as recently as yesterday, the release date on amazon.ca said today.

But it seems to be already out in the UK. In fact, if my vacation had been just 3 days later, I could have picked it up there.

Al, if it's not too much trouble, I'd be interested. Do you think the cost of purchase plus shipment will be over £20? In any case, thank you for your kind offer.

I suppose I could just order from Amazon UK. I can also survive to the end of the month and order from Canada. March is ridiculous, however. :nono:

amazon.com has this edition of the book coming out on 26 March.

Oddly enough, it doesn't come up by searching for "Raising Steam". I found it by searching on amazon.ca, and then substituting "com" for "ca" in the url.

Edit: to fix url tag

It might actually work out cheaper to order from Amazon Frelga. Check it out and I'll see if I can beat the price?

It looks like £10 book + £8 shipping, just under $30.

Hmm, its showing as €20 on Irish bookstores with free shipping to Ireland. Would probably cost me between €5 and €10 to send in a jiffy bag. Might be as cheap for you to buy direct I think!

Early reviews for Raising Steam. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1127 ... sing-steam

Unfortunately, it looks like a lot of the things I hated about Snuff (weird characterization of his old characters, speeches instead of dialogue, etc.) are back in this one.

btw, Frelga, I think I forgot to tell you this - you were right about Unseen Academicals. It's still not my favorite, by any means, but it improves on second reading.

So Raising Steam was due to be released today on amazon.ca. And as of today, now they're listing the release date as 9 December. I know how this works - on the 9th of December, they'll announce the release date as January something, and so on.

Never mind. I'm ordering from amazon.co.uk.

I was afraid of that, that's why I haven't ordered from Canada yet. I don't understand what's going on. Other books all came out at about the same time everywhere, IIRC, and the date was firm.

I wouldn't order from Canada - just go direct to the UK.
