I *will* burn the bloody CD-ROM it was supposed to be backed up to.

Thanks for the advice.

Look I have been "burned" too often in the past.
I have had hard drives/systems melt from under me. I have had to format etc. I hate going through all of that bullshit.
I now have an additional drive in every machine in this house, as well as saving all executables/zip files that I have downloaded. I backup and burn whenever the need arises. It has become a fact of life. As much as a pain in the ass as it is, it is nothing compared to losing work and files you just can't do without.
As I said, a fact of life in this day and age.
I have saved myself literally days and days just in download time alone.
Why do I feel like a 7th Day Adventist pounding on someone's door?
I'll bet losing the Excel stuff is burning your ass more than anything.
It gets personal.

Awwwwww.....

Thanks Sunsilver and Holby :)

Sunsilver, youre such a darling! You are scaring me though... no Im not in a hospital... :P Its a nassssty virus but I dont think Im THAT badly off... the doctors seem optimistic just saying it has to run its course and unfortunatelly it takes a friggin while doing that sometimes...
Im at home... I didnt go to class at all last week and today either... I have a test on thursday... might have to go in for that... though the studying and catching up is not going so well with my current habit of falling asleep all the time... I wrote to the prof... might do a make up.

I will be very glad when my throat heals up a bit because as is its just horrible with breathing/swallowing.... the rest I can deal with. And I have to go in again to monitor that nasty liver thing... more bloodtests. I am hoping that when this week is up I will be more pain free, though still tired and weak.

Im in Mississauga in fact, the big suburb of Toronto :P
I am taking care of myself... :P... and my mom is helping too of course when she's home from work...:)

Ive heard a lot of horror stories about mono... from what I hear from the docs its kind of different for every person... and while I dont have the easiest case ever known, Im not quite so badly off as to be in hospital or worried about long term damage (if Im careful now)... Im keeping optimistic.... I have travel plans for mid february that I really dont want to cancel... we shall see!

I hate viruses... the fact that nothing can really be done to speed up recovery besides the usual fluids and sleep annoys me :P I like to feed myself drugs that will kick me back into gear...sigh.

Thanks for all the concern guys!!!!!!

Ro, (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) from one sickie to another....
Flu is another nassssssty virus. How I hatessssss them precioussssss. Hang in there... and sleep... the sleeping is really nice if you can fall asleep and stay asleep. :)

Steve, I didnt give your computer the virus, no. :P Blame someone else ;)

As you said, Enchie, mono hits everyone differently. I think my friend caught hepatitis too, and that's one of the reasons she wound up on hospital. She was fine, after a lengthy recuperation. It's just that now she will never be able to donate blood, for fear the hepatitis is lingering in her system, and might be passed on.

Still, it's nothing to fool with, and that fever you had is enough to make any nurse go 'YIKES!'

Hope you're better soon!

Sleep? I slept. I slept so well my roomie had to call my cellphone to realise I was in the room.

You know what's even better than flu?

Flu and cramps!

So, because I haven't got the luxury of spending this week in bed, I took two of those short-term-gets-rid-of-symptoms-but-not-illness pills last night. This morning I'm ready to die of a more natural kind of pain. I think, paracetamol shouldn't be added to paracetamol if I remember anything from secondary school, but it's been nine hours, so I'll buy some painkillers.

Now, shouldn't the lady at the pharmacy have warned me that this particular type of painkiller makes you drowsy and shouldn't be taken while driving. I hope I don't crash my bike into a tree on the way home. Yippeeee...

Nin'd be a hot chick even if she collapsed on the mountainside with hypothermia, was buried in an snow avalanche and turned up later in a glazier.

Nope.

I just saw a bunch of joggers in the park from the class window.

They were all running in line, waving their hands in the air, and lifting their legs like they were members of the Ministry of Silly Walks.

Then they stopped, and went back the other way jumping like kangaroos!

Time for an update... (because this of course is of great interest to everyone :P)

Im over the worst two weeks of mono. Week one was BAAAAAAAAAAD. Week two was BAAAAAD. :P

I have never had a tonsilitis this horrible lasting almost two weeks. Yay for liquid diets and lots of juices :P
Fever went away after 1.5 weeks. I can breathe and Im not shaking in nassssty fever chills now. My throat doesnt hurt anymore. Im up an around, just really tired. This apparently lasts usually around a month :P

If I dont turn on the alarm clock, I can sleep 18 hours straight... One day I think I slept a total of 20 hours... lol
Just really tired and weak-feeling. Climbing stairs exhausts me for now.
My apetite is back though and Im eating like a little chubasaurus machine... so much for the one good thing that mono caused: a bit of weight loss. :scratch :suspicious:

Anyhow, (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))
and warm herbal tea for all the sickies.

Anyone else recovering? Vana's coming back...but still pretty bad.

Glad to hear you two are recovering, Enchie and Alandriel. Keep getting better!
