$300 for a duck hunting trip? That can't work out cheaper per pound... :Q I hunt because its cheeper than buying meat and because it tastes way better.

Well, no, it doesn't normally cost that much. To hunt around here, he just needs equipment, stamps, etc. This is a special, guided trip deal, down in Tennessee, I think. That's why it's $300.

How cheap is it to hunt in Canada? Do you process your own stuff? (I'm going to have to get Feredir in here to explain things and answer questions, I guess.)

First of all teehee.......... ok, juvenile stage over, for now.

If the guy ever calls me back GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :rage:

Anyway, it's a guided duck hunt where all I have to do is bring my gun, shells, and shoot straight :damnfunny: (like that's gonna happen). They provide all the deeks (decoys), blind, retrievers, do all the calling, and provide an in blind morning meal. It's actually a pretty good price and only 6 hours from home.

I never price it out per pound based on everything you have to pay for (ie: hotel, ammo, gun, gas, clothing, gadgets, etc etc) because if you do, you'll cry. I just figure the price for processing the deer (I prepare everything else I kill) and then the price of the deer tag ($20 going up to $25). It usually figures out to be about $1.50 per pound. It all depends on the size of the deer which directly correlates to the amount of meat, some get more and some get less (my bother affectionately calls it deer veal). However, we don't buy any other red meat throughout the year. Less cholestrol, less fat, and tastes great. It's all a paradigm shift (that's for Lali, it has nothing to do with anything above)

Does anyone use ipods for working out?

Are they annoying the way cd walkmans are? Or are they fairly light and easy to move around in?

Just wondering if it's worth it for me to get one, or should I just continue blasting the stereo instead... :help:

Best thing for working out is an Ipod Nano. They're solid state so no amount of shaking will make them stutter. And you can buy them a lot cheaper in the US than we can here.

Thanks Alatar :)

I was wondering about that, cause I've heard both good things and bad things about using them when working out. Getting advice on a specific ipod to use if I do get one is great :)

NOTE: during the transfer to our new board77.net site, a couple of posts were lost. They're still available on the old board, but I thought before too many posts are made on the new one, I would sneak in these few that were missed. Just to be thorough.

Yay!!!! (I got the 30GB one.)

And the quote I decided on was:

This space left intentionally blank.

:D

So now I can't wait to try to figure it all out, but one thing I know I'll do for sure is transfer the .mpgs I'm creating for a DVD from my computer to the church computer. One .mpg in particular is going to be larger than 800MB, I'm sure. (I haven't gotten to the stage of converting it to an .mpg yet, but the working file is already 622MB.) So that will be very helpful.

Sad news: my iPod is defective. :bawl: So I'm going to have to ship it back. (The touch wheel is wonky.)

It only took 2 tries, but I now have a functioning iPod. Yay!

So my next question is this:

What is anyone's recommendation for a cheap mp3 player? (Cheap, as in less than $100)
