Homer: What's a "gym"? (Pronounced guy-m.)

*walks into gym*

Homer: Oh....... A GYM! (Still pronounced guy-m.)

There are way too many to mention but that's my first nomination.

Define "moment".

Whatever your definition, the answer is easy:
- the Meat and You educational video in the Lisa the Vegeterian episode

And it's on YouTube!

Second place nominations go to the ultra-mega-super classic "No TV and no beer" moment.

Also on YouTube!

Too many to name.

Marg's flirtation with teh bowling instructor must be near the top, remember, he had a French accent? And she was so sweet saying No.

Homer refusing to have an affair with the chicky from the Nuke plant, when away from home.

I LOVE the Simpsons.

For vison, that lady's name was Mindy.

See her in this clip from YouTube!

:LMAO:

Good choice, though I would have picked the infamous rake sequence from that episode! :D

Yeah that's great too. :D

One of my favorite episodes is the Indecent Proposal parody with Arty Ziff. So many classics.
Quote:
Selma: You just tell us what you want to say.
Marge: Okay, hold on to your hats. [takes a sip of her drink]
Dear Artie ... [giggles]
Patty: [types] Dear Hottie ...
Marge: Congratulations on your recent TV appearance.
Patty: I want to sex you up. Your love slave, Marge.
Marge: [gasps] You can't use the word "sex" on the internet.
Patty: Watch me.
Quote:
Artie: [perks up] A note from Marge Simpson? Well, isn't that a
coincidence. I was just thinking about her ...
[the camera pulls back to reveal an office decorated
exclusively with pictures and statues of Marge]
... for the last *twenty years!*
Quote:
Moe: Yeah, I can't get Artie out of my head. He's like a spy
in the House of Moe.
Quote:
Homer: Oh, guys, it was horrible. I saw Marge kissing a far
superior man.
Moe: Eh, well, if it makes you feel any better, he's probably
doin' her right now.
[Homer sobs on the bar. Lenny glares at him]
Oh, yeah, make me the bad guy.
Homer: My life here is over. Lenny, how'd you like to leave town
with me and never come back?
Lenny: Sounds like a plan!
Homer: Then it's settled -- we leave Springfield forever!
Quote:
% By now, Homer and Lenny have boarded a bus and headed out into what
% looks like an arid part of the country. Homer can't keep his wife
% off his mind. Even the cacti and clouds remind him of her. Lenny
% can sympathize. The bus drives past Mount Carlmore, a huge bust of
% Carl carved out of solid mountain rock.

Lenny: I carved that one wonderful summer.
Homer: What did Carl think?
Lenny: You know, we've never discussed it.
Quote:
% Homer starts climbing the ladder, but now Lenny seems reluctant to go.
% "There's nothing on that helicopter for me," he says. Just then,
% Carl appears at the helicopter door. "Don't be so sure," he says. Overjoyed, Lenny follows Homer
% up the ladder.
Quote:
% In the end, though, it looks like Artie was able to help out Marge
% and Homer after all. His latest invention is a snore converter.
% The device looks ominously like a gas mask. When the snorer straps
% it on, it converts the sound of his snoring into music --
% specifically, "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This" by Eurythmics. With
% the device working, Homer and Marge settle into bed.

Artie: [via a speaker on the converter] He's a loser, Marge --
dump him!
[to the tune of "Sweet Dreams"]
I've traveled the world and the seven seas,
I am watching you through a camera!
The last line, and the way he suddenly sings it loudly, is probably my favorite Simpsons moment. :)

Folks, we're experiencing some moderate Godzilla-related turbulence at this time.

Bless the Simpsons.

Iavas, what do I have to do, to get you to do SOMETHING with that awful green thongy-thingy? Please? Have you no regard for the tender sensibilities of an old lady, withering away in her last years, desiring only peace and beauty?

Switch to firefox and get the adblock extension. I hadn't seen that green thong for so long I had forgotten about it until I read your post.

:Q :Q :Q :Q :Q That may very well be the single most famous Simpsons moment. Even casual fans will almost always recognize the "No TV and no beer" line and I've seen nerdish variations of it all over the place (say, something like, "No b77 and no posting make yova something something..." which I often considered using as a rank :D). It was from the very best Treehouse of Horror, #5 which is in Season 6. It contains a story where Homer discovers time-travelling , which is my second favorite Halloween show story (the above one being the best).

That explains why I haven't seen it - I'm only up to Season 5!

The "insect overlord" line was alluded to in a science blog that I monitor at work: link. I had fun explaining the reference to my boss. :D
