Hey there's an idea...Johnny Depp Frank'n'Further... then again I don't know if anyone can top Tim Curry, even Johnny would have a hard time topping him... (snort)

OH and the new Rocky...Rocky Balboa...sheesh.

Let me know how much Milo Ventimiglia is in it, if you could. I'm going to see this tomorrow just for him, even though I know he's a supporting character. Just don't wanna be too disappointed.

Thanks!

EDIT: I shouldn't say it was very good. IT WAS FUCKING ROCKY ONE LAST TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D      :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse:

It was very good. A good ending to the series. Milo is in the movie quite a bit actually. Lots of screen time!

I suck at film reviews and don't want to spoil things, but the movie does a good if sappy job of tying up all the loose ends of the movies. There are quite a few appearances from people in the previous movies and several "inside joke" kinda things.

I thought it was a good tribute to the films. It was well done. The acting was good I thought, especially from Burt Young. It has a good story about it as well. It really doesn't feel like it was made simply to cash in one last time. You can tell Stalone wanted to make a final film and send the Rocky story out with a proper bang instead of that horrible part 5!

I give it two thumbs up :P

Of course I am very pissed at the theatre I went to because right as the credits started, they turned the thing off and turned the lights on. I got the brief sound of the Rocky Theme playing, saw more footage of him running up the stairs and then wack off it went! I complained to someone about it. They went and got the manager who proceeded to walk right past me with out a word, walk up to the projection area, then walked right back down past me with out a word, and over to sit down and eat his lunch. I went in to see if it was back on but it wasn't. Assholes! Thats just plan rude! Not only to me, but to the people that make movies. Completely disrespectful. I think I am going to write a letter or call or something! :rage: :rage: :rage: :rage:

I never got around to reviewing it, I appologize.

But it was absolutely stunning. Never expected to like such a film but I was completely in love with everything about it. What a great character. It's totally blasphemous, but sometimes I can't help thinking, "what would Rocky do?" Not kidding. :P He's a fighter. I wish I could have a millionth of his heart. The entire film was wonderful and you can tell how much love went into it. I nominated it for some awards in this thread. It's by far the best film I've seen this year, just behind CHILDREN OF MEN. I'll have to nick my parents' boxed set of the original films because though I saw 1 once, I don't remember much about it.

I've been to Philly but not as a tourist. Regretting it now! I only used a pic from the library stairs as a signature on TORC when I found out I was going to the moot there. :P Woulda been cool to promote the film or something. Oh well.

I think that'd split the Liberty Bell even further, but I would've loved to take part in the end credits, yeah. That was a fantastic idea.

Just saw it last night. Loved, loved, loved it. Nostalgic but not schmaltzy. Perfect.

Not at all! I adored it to pieces, I'm just bad at talking about the films I've seen recently. It was also right before my trip south, and Children of Men, so it got a little swept under the rug.

But again, it was one of my favorite films in 2006 and I look forward to seeing it again as well as the original to greater appreciate it.

Ooh! Good thought Gimli! Only problem then is that you're actually giving them your money for Rocky IV :(

I love Rocky IV, It's five that doesn't do much for me. I know IV isn't so great by most peoples standards, but it's the one that came out when I was old enough to actually go see it and I had it recorded on a much used VHS tape growing up!
