So how many of you Rickman fans have seen his perfoirmance as Eamon deValera in Michael Collins? Just curious, as I think its one of his finest roles.

Kidding, kidding.

Haven't seen that movie, but Alan Rickman in Sense and Sensibility is   !! Marry me Colonel Brandon!

I laughed. Mostly cause I had already finished the book so I didn't care about the SPOILERS! :D

It's that person right there that made me paranoid. It's not brilliant it's cruel and uncalled for. I'd kick him in the nuts if he'd been at my book store.

Having said that. The "Snape is a triple agent" part was quite funny.`

They should send that in to Jackass.

The cool thing is, our kids are going to be hearing about the cultural phenomenon that was Harry Potter. The books will still be there, of course, but the excitement of waiting for each book in the series to come out is over, and we got to be part of it.

Spoiler below.

Second warning.

Third warning.

Okay, that's it. You've had your fair chance to look away. If you don't, it's your own damned fault.

For me, suspension of disbelief typically results in suspension of my soft heart, and so I rarely cry at books or movies. However, the resolution to the Snape storyline broke my heart. I didn't cry when Dumbledore died (but I definately choked up), but when Harry goes sifting through Sanpe's memories in the pensieve, I lost it. I didn't just choke up, I had tears running down my face.

I still hate him for being a pompous jack-ass though.

That was part of what made me cry though. That he was always, outwardly, such a jerk, and then finding out he was, underneath the asshole exterior, as completely loyal to Dumbledore as Harry was, and that from childhood he was sick with love for a woman he could never have, a woman whose life he betrayed...that just twisted the knife in deeper.

Again a HUGE

You knew there was some friction between Harry and Snape but never knew why exactly. On the surface it seemed that Snape disliked Harry because he wasn't in Slytherin but now we know the real reason.

And then he made Harry look him the eyes at the end, so he'd go out looking into Lily's eyes...

Good god, I'm turning into a SNAPE fangirl! Somebody help me please!!!

JK Rowling launches 'mystery' website
Quote:
Harry Potter author JK Rowling has launched a website to promote a secretive new project.

The site, pottermore.com, features a holding page with two owls which links to a YouTube page featuring a countdown to a 23 June announcement.

"The owls are gathering... find out why soon," it adds.

Her spokeswoman said the project was "not a new book" and was not "directly related" to the final Potter film which is due out on 15 July.

"We are not saying anything more at the moment," she added.

Producers of fan site The Leaky Cauldron said they had seen a preview of the Pottermore project, describing it as "breathtaking".

J.K. Rowling promises Halloween treat for Harry Potter fans

Quote:
Harry Potter fans can look forward to a Halloween treat, with some tricks, from J.K. Rowling.

In an announcement posted Friday on her website, the author revealed that she has prepared a 1,700 word story about the witch and former Hogwarts professor Dolores Umbridge.

The story will appear on Halloween, Oct. 31, on her site. It will include Rowling's "revealing first-person thoughts" about Umbridge, according to Friday's announcement.

Umbridge first appeared in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth of seven books in Rowling's multimillion-selling series. Imelda Staunton played her in the film adaptations of the Potter books.
I hope I remember to check her website on Hallowe'en...

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - new play coming to London in Summer 2016

Since I'm going to Ireland in April, I can't justify going to London in the summer. I wonder if it'll play for a few months? Maybe I could justify coming back in the fall, and then not travelling in 2017. Maybe.

Or maybe I can just pretend that I never heard about this at all so I won't mind missing it.
