There was no point. It was lost from the beginning.

I realize this. I'm just wondering what happens now. Between that and the Vietnam comparison I'm curious about what the people who actually support this war are thinking.

I listen to talk radio every day in the car. They are thinking that the war is necessary, that it's being won, and that critics either don't understand the stakes, or want the terrorists to win.

That is so terribly sad. Eventually most of them will wake up and smell the coffee.

A few won't, and will go on being delusional, just like the poor old fools who still think Joan Baez and Jane Fonda lost the war in Vietnam.

Our governments arrogance bites us in the ass, again. :(

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

It was a lose lose situation to begin with what we should be doing is working on our exit strategy that will leave the country stable enough to figure shit out for themselves. Rome wasn't built in a day.

They are calling
From across the distant shore

Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping

I could build Rome in a day.

Well; I don't believe that bringing democracy to Iraq was ever the point to begin with. Some parties hoped and seemingly even believed it would happen, but the real reasons we went there, IMO, were a grudge against Saddam and to establish a US military presence in the area before Russia or China could do the same thing.

They'd argue that you shouldn't believe anything from the Communist News Network.

It's strategy people! Make our enemies think we've become defeatest and then we hit them with another successful surge.
