Have you tried? I think we had to restore your PM abilities when we switched your permissions to be able to post in the Jury Room. At least that's what Jude said he thought happened when we had to turn to him for help.

If not, let us know.

All of phpbber.com went down yesterday.
One of the dangers of using a free service - you get what you pay for.

It's back up now though, so git yer butt over there, Stellie! :rage:

While I was over here fussing at Estel, she was over in the Deliberation Room. :doh1:

A member of the jury has informed that they have finally reached a decision. I have already sent the e-mail to Hal.

from the Charter:
Quote:
17) When the jurors have reached a decision, they will email their decision to the member and then post their decision in the thread twenty-four hours later. Anything they have taken into consideration should be presented honestly when they state their decision.
The decision will be posted in this thread tomorrow night.
I am in the mountain time zone (MST) it is now 9:23 pm here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Standard time zone: UTC/GMT -7 hours

One of the jury members will post it, so please refrain from commenting or posting the decision. Thank you for your cooperation.

Thank you jury for your hard work and dedication!!!

With regard to the following charges, the jury rules as follows:

1) "A temporary ban of specified duration can be imposed for persistent posting of objectionable content......"

The jury is split, not because any jurors condone hal's behavior, but because some question the applicability of this particular section of the charter. However, the point is rendered moot by the fact that the behavior in question is covered under items 3 and 4 below.

2) "To refrain from using PM capability to harrass other members of the board."

Once again, the jury is split. Despite this, the majority agree that a warning is appropriate due to the fact that some of the recipients of the PM had previously asked hal not to contact them. Any further PM's to such members should be deemed harassment and immediately dealt with as such.

3) Interfering with others' right "...to post free of disruptions caused by the personal disputes of others."

Guilty by unanimous decision.

4) Misuse/abuse of the Bike Racks

Guilty by majority decision.

Penalties

The jury was split 3-3 as to the duration of the penalty to be imposed. The charter states that in the absence of a majority, the lesser penalty considered shall be implemented. By that rule, the jury rules that hal shall:

A) Receive a three month ban from b77.

B) For the three months following his return from the ban:

---1) Be banned from the Symposium.
------ a. Replying to threads from the Symp outside of it would count as breaking the ban.

---2) Be required to put the poster sauronsfinger (SF) on ignore and
------ a. not reply to him
------ b. post towards him
------ c. post about him (even obliquely - i.e. "a certain poster" or "the poster I must not name")

---3) Following the three month Required ignore, he shall be put on a three month parole with the poster SF. If, at any time during those three months, the rangers or three or more posters feel that a personal dispute that may disrupt the board again has started, a three month required ignore of SF can be reinstated to be followed by another three month parole. Hal shall be allowed no more than three such paroles. If he breaks all three, he shall be required to put SF on a permanent ignore and follow the rules outlined under 2) as above.

I noticed a problem. The two juries both ruled "no talking to the other" for sf and hal. The other parts of their sentence are not in sync with this.

I recommend, on my own all by myself, that that part of both sentences not go into effect until both can post. It's easy to obey a "don't post to him" if "he" isn't there.

I invite any ranger to comment on that.

Sounds like a plan to me. Though we can't really enforce an ignore - the best we could do is treat the symptoms. Though if hal can ignore sf without the help of his foe list tool, the effect will be the same.

CG...technically the "no talking to each other" (90 days) for SF starts the day the verdict (Feb.3) was handed to him, therefore, it couldn't run concurrent to Hal's start date. You can't rule on it since these are two seperate hearings.

it doesn't really matter, if my ban stands, I won't be back.
