Uhm... Technically, Valentine's Day could be any day, doesn't have to be a day in February..?

Well, it is tied into St. Valentine and the date of his martyrdom.

But I guess the details are a little fuzzy, so you could probably move it to a few other days.

Especially since the Catholic Church has determined that they aren't sure if he actually existed, and the date was chosen, as often is, to substitute for a Roman festival.

When they aren't even sure which year Jesus was born, and it's still counted as year 0, I'm sure the date of St. Valentine's martyrdom is uncertain enough to be moved two weeks or so, just to please Crucifer.

okay, enough bawling.

So which month will get the carneval then? I'd vote for a hot month, I prefer belly dancers costumes to ice bear costumes......

Carnival moves around - it's just before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, and Ash Wednesday is a set number of days before Easter. This year, Lent starts February 25th. So you have to get all your partying out of your system before that. Some people take longer to get partying out of their system than others. In some cultures, it's all of January and February. You may want to start now. :D

And in Rio, this is a hot month!
