Okay, so I finished season 6 and have ordered season 7.

So far, I enjoyed every episode. So, does that mean that yov is wrong about - well, just about everything?

Stay tuned.

I forget specific things that have been covered in this thread but if the gist is that yov isn't much of a fan after the first several seasons or something, I think that is how many people feel about it. Myself, I just lost track of when CBC aired it (used to be 5pm, perfect for watching at dinner time, then went to 4:30 and after that idk). But I've been trying to watch it whenever I see it listed lately. I think some of those episodes were brand new, others may be more like five years old or so. Still very entertaining, though I caught a dud or two.

While I wouldn't start the series from the very beginning because I don't like the style of the first couple seasons, I would love to try and make my way through as many of them as possible, just to get a feel for each in relative order. Then I could actually compare the later years to the golden years. ;) I can't help but just think of it as a great show in general, and a long-time companion. Hard to believe it's been around almost as long as I have. :uhoh: I figure if it's ever replaced with some other lame tv family just so we can see them go on the same adventures the Simpsons have gone on, I would rather just watch the Simpsons heh. Even when it feels a little redundant.

Not quite - they don't lose me till after Season 8. I think there's one season 7 ep I don't care for...

*goes to check*

...I thought so. I thought the Hellfish episode was meh. And the Treehouse of Horror episode was when the ToH's started going downhill. But otherwise, that season is solid gold.

I was thinkin' of ya, Jude! Over the last week, I've been going through the South Park series on the comedy network. As a Canadian, I usually can't stream tv shows, so it's been really nice to catch up on an old favorite without a) going broke, b) waiting ages for mail rentals, or c) resorting to piracy. At least I own all their movies and soundtracks, so they are getting some of my moneys, but you know what I mean. Anyway, I don't think they have The Simpsons, but it would be nice to try the series from the very beginning, so I'm gonna see how I can arrange that. I can't recall the last time I regularly watched new episodes or the ones in syndication, but it's been yeeears. Time for a re-visit!

Cuz I need to commit another 100+ hours of my life to television and all... :doh1: :help:

Guess what! Marge Simpson is gonna be on the front cover of Playboy!!!

(according to the article, Playboy's CEO is Scott Flanders. I wonder if cousin Ned would approve?)

It's cuter than I expected.

Speaking of Simpsons nudity, was there ever a discussion of Bart's penis in the motion picture? Because I still think it's weird and unnecessary and wondered how y'all felt, years late though I am.

I am actually dying at that one. The vacant stare, care-free invitation... and if you don't get the context, the text sounds deliciously creepy. :P

Marc Jacbos is one lucky bastard.

Until now, I never realized that my high school's mascot looked like a Hellfish except with boxing gloves instead of a snarl. I'm trying to find pictures, but like the Hellfish, he's elusive. :pout:

Anyway, scroll through some of the comments for other Simpsons memories. My favorite lane. :P

EDIT: victory!!!

Download it while you can, folks! I swear that's only the third image I've ever seen of him online. :nono: And I brag him up to so many people, too. lol

I just finished season 9.

I can sort of see the point of view of the people that say the series has been going downhill - I enjoyed most of it, but there were three or four episodes that I felt were just "going through the motions", if you know what I mean.

Still, there were enough laugh-out-loud moments that I went ahead and ordered season 10. We'll see how that works out...

I still thought 9 had enjoyable moments, though not enough to make it worth it for me. It's season 10 where they full on lost me.

I get the impression that I enjoyed more season 9 episodes than you did.

I'll keep buying them until I encounter a season where the majority of episodes are mediocre. Who knows - season 10 may be my last!

And we've made it this far with some real trees intact!

Are the Stones on their Wheelchair 2000 tour yet? :uhoh:
