Shockingly, this thread is NOT for a musical.

Dollhouse is Joss Whedon's new show. Do I need to say more? Yeah, I didn't think so. That sentence alone should indicate awesomeness.

If, however, you want more information, Dollhouse stars Eliza Dushku as Echo, an 'active' -- a person who can be imprinted with a full personality, skill set, and set of memories, and then have that all wiped to be replaced with a new one as needed. The actives are also known as 'dolls' and can be hired for various purposes -- assassination, a cure for loneliness, you name it. The question is, if you can wipe and replace all of that, what remains of their essential identity? Plus there's the fact that the actives aren't exactly above board and the government is getting curious.

ETA: Fox has announced that Dollhouse will premiere on Friday, February 13. Auspicious, no?

Here are the teaser and trailer that have been released so far. The show starts up in January and I for one cannot wait.

Dang it, that's so far away!!!

I can't watch the teasers right now as I am supposed to be studying, but I will tonight after the test.

I took the stars from my eyes, and then I made a map, And knew that somehow I could find my way back; Then I heard your heart beating, you were in the darkness too - So I stayed in the darkness with you

All you had to say was Joss Whedon and I'm there. I've been anticipating this show for quite some time

*bump*

Just a reminder, the premiere is tonight at 9:00! That's in 20 minutes if you live on the East Coast.

I have seen the first 15 minutes or so and judging just from that, it's going to be aaawesome.

Was more entertained while brushing my dog's teeth tbh, but I'll try to catch a few episodes. If I'm going to hear about something nonstop like Gossip Twats, I want to be sure I'm not making a mistake like with Jericho and Arrested Development and Veronica Mars and counting. :P

What's the big deal with this Dushku girl? I hear about her all the time but think she's fug and have only seen her in The New Guy, Wrong Turn, and True Lies lol.

Wait until episode 6 to judge. According to Joss, that's when things really kick it up a notch and get crazy.

I've only seen her in Buffy and she was pretty bad-ass in that. I've never thought she was particularly good looking but havin seen her in person now she is seriously gorgeous, much more so than on screen. I'm not sure how I feel about her doing the whole new personality every week thing, but Joss thinks she can do it so I"m willing to hold off on judging for a while.

Either way, I'm really just excited to have a new Joss Whedon show on TV. I've never seen one as it aired before, having discovered him after the ends of both Angel and Firefly.

Decided to give this a shot, mainly cuz Firefly roxrs, and I was well intrigued. Wasn't digging it at first but by the end I saw a lot of potential for kick-assitude. Will stay tuned.

My understanding is that Friday nights are a death sentence for tv programs and Fox is particularly moronic in choosing what to cancel. So yeah if anyone's interested in the show, don't dawdle right yet. :P

I watched the premiere and still have last week's ep on my DVR. I'll perhaps watch it tonight.

Fingers crossed that Fox won't screw Joss over again.

I've been watching it on Hulu (the internet, it is wonderful  ) and I think it has potential. I'm intrigued but not obsessed, not yet.

I have watched eps one to 3 and I have pimped it onto my roomate who is a Joss Whedon fan. I found the pilot episode to be a bit sleepy, but I find I really enjoy the complex writing of this series. I want to know more about everyone. I would like to see Echo take on a more meek and mild personality since she has been sort of doing this tough girl thing for a while. I think it would be an interesting acting challenge for Dushku. Also I swear that cops neighbour is a doll. No woman is that obsessed. I really hope Fox does not cancel it. My older sis isn't gonna watch it unless there is a complete first season since she has no faith in Fox after what they did to Firefly. At least this show was a mid season premiere rather then it having to get constantly pre-empted for baseball like Firefly did.

My wife says the first episode reminded her way too much of Seven--relentlessly dark, without the compensatory wittiness that she liked in Firefly. I find myself agreeing. I've got the other two on the DVR--does it lighten up at all? If not I'm not interested.

I think you guys need to see her in Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She even did a small stint on Angel too. Minds will then be changed.

That's the main place I've seen her and why I don't like her. :P

I'm sure I'll like her more than that Charisma Carpenter. :pout: Hm, maybe I just don't like Buffy actresses heh. Unless they've been in kick-ass adaptations of Liaisons Dangerous. Special exemption for that!
Glad to make ye laugh, Eru. :Wooper: [/nerd moment]

Not trying to be off topic here, Mossy, sorry! I've got the second episode saved on the comp, just been distracted with other files this week.
