I've stayed at the "Strand Palace" the last three times. Very nice and very central, but I'll have to check the prices there yet. Next time I thought I'd look for a nice B&B location -

Covent Garden is on my list anyway, as it is my favourite place, I never miss it, when I'm in London.
I've been to Camden Market with my mum years ago and I remember it was rather crowded. Should take the dog leash with me, then.

St Martin's in the Fields, I've been to concerts there and last time they had a flea market. Gravestone rubbing sounds interesting....

And I wonder if she might enjoy the tree-walk in Kew. I thought about doing Kew Gardens and Hampton Court on one day.
