Yes...their debut album was very much more gothic metal, but they mellowed into symphonic metal/rock with the next two - my fave album is "Edge of Infinity". Kind of comparable with Evanescence. This latest album has slightly more of an edge, but includes a couple of lighter pop ballads.

I love this song, Claudia's Theme from the movie The Unforgiven. It reminds me of my grandfather. I stumbled across this tonight looking for this song, didn't even know it was called Claudia's Theme.

Aha!

It's a bit gimmicky, and you have to ignore the first bit, beacuse it's not original... The opera doesn't start until the piano starts playing the ascending scales.

The theatre production is far better.

Awesome idea! :D The execution of the video got too annoying before the end though, so I had to stop watching. I wanted to see a minute or so as it actually happened! :blackeye:

Yeah, I have a DVD of the original production in Berlin, and it's awesome. :)

This girl is just amazing, don't think there's a single one of her songs that doesn't hit the spot...she really writes songs from the heart...

Don't know how "unknown" he is, but Patrick Watson's song "Big Bird in a Small Cage" is beautiful. I LOVE this song.

I got a gold mine in my back yard! Love this song, I've adopted it as my theme song. :D

I love Ben Harper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's mine for today - new song by Kate Miller-Heidke, and it is gorgeous. Really shows off the range of her voice.

I'm enjoying this hazy, sad, lovely song:

I liked the sound of that. I didn't listen to the words too closely, though.

I love that song, yov!

I think I prefer Rachael Yamagata's more upbeat version, but that one's very good too...Frida has such a lovely clear voice.

Do any of you listen to Loreena McKennit? A friend lent me two of her CDs, and they're beautiful music. She's an Irish (I believe) singer and songwriter. Some of her numbers are traditional songs or poems, and some are her own compositions. She sings harmonies with herself (ah, the wonders of technology!) and plays harp. Let's see if I can find a link...

Here we go. Oh, and I find that she's actually Canadian, but does Celtic music.
