The medical community has been wrong before! I think the irritation, if any, could just as easily be a reaction to the perfume and other chemicals they put in these products. The thing about wiping front to back is another matter, it actually makes sense.
I don't buy bubble bath stuff because I am allergic to all the scents and skin softeners, etc. and can't be bothered with the trouble and expense of finding out which ones don't make me itch and suffer. IF I have a bath, which I do occasionally, I put a dollop of liquid Palmolive dish soap in the water, just to keep from getting a ring on the tub. It never bothers me and it makes lovely suds.
Not all liquid detergents are safe, but I always buy Palmolive anyway.
I use ordinary plain old Ivory bar soap. The boys have some stinky bodywash stuff that they like and, of course, they like "Axe" which ought to be banned. I promised Oz I'd take him to The Bay or somewhere where you can buy nice cologne - my husband had Eternity for Men and it didn't make me sneeze or make my eyes swell shut. And he used it very sparingly, the boys tend to slather it on.
I had to take an antihistamine yesterday because I was working with straw. And, once again, a migraine attack. Without the really bad headache, thankfully, but the blindness and aura are so horrible! I took the plain old novopheneram (not sure of the spelling), and I took only a half a 4mg tablet, but about an hour later, BANG. I wonder what the hell? I can't decide which is worse. Well, if I got the true miserable migraine headache it would be worse than the sneezing and itching of allergies. But sometimes my eyes swell almost shut and a couple of times my throat was getting pretty close to being swelled shut, too. I've tried every brand on the market, and it drives me crazy that I get this migraine thing.
