:) Any time! You have a place to stay and a tour guide/naturalist to boot. (Not that I'd have to go around with you; that could get annoying, but you know what I mean.)

You're a naturalist? Bonus!

Oh wait, naturalist...

There I was getting my hopes up (among other things!) Sorry Freddie!

:damnfunny:

Good one! =:)

(Well, now, how awkward would that be to discover whilst staying with people you've never actually met before? :D )

Those are really nice pictures Lalaith!

It isn't autumn here but the colours are out in full. The iPhone doesn't really capture the deepness of the purple glow of the flowers, especially on a grey, almost ready to rain day. But the streets look really cool after a storm when there are as many flowers on the ground as there is on the tree, a very surreal purpleness...

That's also a beautiful time of year - when all the trees are in full bloom in spring. :)

I wish I had a better picture with a good camera. After the storm we had Saturday, the ground was purple and it was a very purpleesque scene with those flowers still on the trees. They are faded to a light colour now, and the green leaves are growing on them. But as the Jacarandas finish, the flame Trees are blooming in red (picture coming soon)

What's more beautiful than pictures of the woods in autumn?

Well, I'll tell you - pictures of dogs in the woods in autumn!

Even though the colours are mostly gone now, the bare trees have a stark beauty all their own.

Spring always comes. Just keep repeating that. It doesn't seem true, but it is.

Here are a few:

Foggy day

Cute toad

Pretty leaf

Bittersweet
[ img ]

The only bad part of the day is that I slipped and fell on some very slippery steps (that nearly everyone else also slipped or at least slid on). I was even being very careful NOT to fall. So I'm fine, but I'm bruised and sore on my left side. The bruises were already starting right after I fell. Ouch! :(

Those are lovely - what are those fruits in the 4th picture?

Hope you all recover from your slips.

Thanks!

Bittersweet is the name of the plant with the fruit. (I wasn't trying to be poetic or anything with the title. ;) )

Interesting - is it edible? I'm just wondering where the name comes from.

Here are two from the Royal Botanic Gardens:
