We'll be getting 0 F (~-18C) this coming weekend. That level of cold makes feeding my animals a much more unpleasant chore each evening.

That's way too cold. :( It's a bit warmer today, -10C (14F) right now. We're supposed to have a high of -3C (27F) today, and, tomorrow, it's supposed to be 11C (51F). Sunday it's back down to -3C. :suspicious:

And if you ever want to come up and bask in the warmth of our hot new prime minister...

Can I send my son to you? He thinks he wants to go to school in Chicago or Boston.

I finally had to chip a little ice off my windshield this morning. But that didn't stop me from a having a lovely dragon boat paddling practice on the bay. It was a crisp, clear, beautiful day.

We are having a normal winter for a change. Rain interspersed with sunny days when the temperature drops almost to freezing at night.

Meanwhile my kid is up in the Sierras, where it was 14F when they arrived. He says it's not so bad. I say, as long as his ears are still attached, it's OK.

We've had more than a foot of snow since last night, and it's still falling. Looks like we're going to have a lot of shoveling to clear our driveway tomorrow, though the trees in the woods usually keep it from getting as deep as the roads. Pretty, though. I'll enjoy it with a cup of tea today, and worry about the shoveling tomorrow. Cleared a path to the woodpile, then called it quits.

Oh, and no need to go to Canada to bask in the warmth of a politician. Our own Congress has plenty of hot air to spare...

Basking is not the word I'd apply to the US politics.

I will whine about the cold here, too. It's cold. Too cold. Painfully cold. And I'm tired of being cold. :(

<insert general whining and bitching and moaning here>

I forgot how tired cold makes you. Sending you a virtual hot chocolate with marshmallows.

It keeps raining here. On my way to work, i saw tidal marshes completely flooded and dotted with ducks. Typically, they are grassy flats with channels of water, and in the drought years they were just grass and dry mud.

Okay, so this afternoon's rain has indeed turned to snow now...it's laying on the parked cars but nothing to get too excited about!
