Just deleted inactive user diyan77. Looking at the admin log, I see that Alatar deleted a user with the same username a few days ago. Do you think it's a real user trying to get in, or just a persistent bot?

I check the "whois" and am problematically racist in deleting ones that appear to come from famous ransomware countries like India, Bangladesh and Nigeria

Is there a way for a genuine user to contact someone? Say if someone who hasn't been on the board in 10 years wanted to revisit the place but forgot their login. That's the only scenario I can think of where we would get a genuine new user.

Same.

And I've had real people hit me up on FB to ask to be let back in. At this point, that should take care of almost everyone. I can't think of a way to make that 100%.

New user Hamm has an IP address in the US. I took a chance and activated them. Are they genuine? Let's wait and see...

You know the problem with the "Confirm delete" screen? All it says is "Are you sure you want to perform this operation? Yes/No". No details of the user to be deleted are displayed.

Every time, I'm afraid that pushing "Yes" will delete some genuine user with a genuine post history of several years. It would be good to have the details displayed so I can just have one last look before I hit the switch.

I know that because this is open source, I have absolutely no right to complain. The answer to any such complaint would be "well, pull the latest version from GitHub and fix it yourself!" Maybe I will, when I'm retired.
