Both of our boards have a history of searching and finding great hosts, which are great for a while and then they get resold to some less-great company. Remember the excellent mxhub that got acquired by the aptly-named noeclue?
I did a search for reviews on our host, and they still have a good reputation, even in recent reviews, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume that they would like to help us.
Here's what I would send them next - you can reword as you see fit:
There is very little web development going on at our site - we have a phpbb3 messageboard that runs on php and mysql, and that's it. It has been running smoothly for months and then this latest outage happened starting a couple of days ago. There were no changes made on the site, apart from our regular users continuing to read and add posts to the site.
Looking at the Resource usage, we see that since the beginning of the logged period, 40 / 40 entry processes are used. Since none of us can currently access the site, I wonder what is causing those entry processes. Certainly not our regular users. Looking back in time, I see that the entry processes remain low, usually only 1, until they rise sharply during 26 - 27 March, where they reach 40 and seem to have remained there ever since. As I said, we have made no changes in our site apart from people continuing to browse and post on our site at basically the same rate they have been for the past few months or years.
Have you any idea what could have caused this sudden spike on the 26 - 27th of March? Is there any way of seeing where these entry processes originate? Any information and help you could give us regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.
