I read an article once about a grandmother who overcame an intruder by boring him to sleep with pictures of her grandchildren and then calling the police, and I am not kidding.

Well from what my law enforcement friends say pepper spray works pretty well, it can however be a little more difficult to use then simply sparying it at a person, and though its rare a few people are immune to it.
I'm thinking about making my sister carry a can.
