The sleeveless maroon sounds more aziraphalesque.
I thought so too (great word!) It's just it's going to be a lot of work getting it to fit and look right. I picked up the tartan in a charity shop because, well, "Tartan is stylish".
Maybe you could acquire a flaming sword as well?
*sigh* More work. I did think I might be Aziraphale nearer the start of GO- he's lost the sword, but he could be carrying
The Nice and Accurate Prophecies and maybe a thermos of cocoa. I could convert a knackered old book (we have plenty of the right sort) with a fake frontispiece with a bit of caligraphy. I kind of don't want to steal my friend's thunder- she's been making a lush sword for
her costume (Raphael from Soul Calibur, IIRC) and besides, I always wondered how much Aziraphale liked being associated with scary firey weaponry.
I don't know. It's a good idea, and one I had briefly entertained, but do you reckon it would be better with the accessories above?
Also in the costume:
-Beige trousers (ironed down the front)
-White formal shirt
-Black tie
-Glasses (probably frames only)
-Socks and leather sandles?
-My everyday afghan coat- a lot of fanart seems to put Aziraphale in beige or fluffy coats, and mine is practicaly identical to the Sanna Lutonnen version (elfwood). Plus, the slightly mixed-era feel of the whole costume seemed quite Aziraphale. So even if it's not what you'd immediately think of, I think it could work.
Right now my hair seems pretty much right- shortish but floppy, pale red-blonde. His hair would probably be blonder, but I didn't think it was worth dying it or anything. I'm thinking of using a bit of wax and stuff to try and keep my fringe back- I douby Aziraphale would have a fringe.
It's quite fun trying to portray a character for whom there's no definative image!
FTR, Max has her whole outfit sorted now, and Crowley is going to be in a long leather jacket- kind of Aragorn meets Hells Angels, with dark glasses and hopefuly (if it's not wet) feet painted with scales.
Hee! This is going to be great!
