I voted. :)

Photobucket seems to be down, as evidenced by Voronwe's missing sig.
Edit: And then right back up...

Jn, are you a grandmother yet?

Maybe there's been an announcement somewhere, but I'm a mushroom at the moment so pls excuse if I've missed it.

I am sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do admins become admins? They volunteer and that's it right? Or are they voted in? *confused*

I take off my hood for the Convention. Your task is probably much harder than you imagined; ruling a democracy is more difficult than ruling a monarchy or dictature.

Wilma, assuming the piece of the charter being voted on now is ratified, you become an admin by volunteering in the sticky thread here in the Business Room. The list is being maintained temporarily by Jnyusa until we have a mayor (or whatever the position ends up being called) who coordinates the admin rotations. People will serve in roughly the order they go into the pool, with some variations to keep a mixture of time zones or because individuals can't serve at a particular time. The mayor will figure it out and let people know when they're scheduled to srve.

Hi, Wilma :)

Admins volunteer (there are minimal qualifications of age and time on board), and while they are in training their names are posted and if anyone has a reason they think someone shouldn't be an admin, they may privately voice their objection during that time and the admins and the Mayor will look into the objection. So there is no vote, but there is a mechanism for member input.

This is a very sketchy summary, but the complete charter can be read by clicking on the link in the first post of this thread.

Just popping in on my lunch break to register my vote and let ALL the committee members know how much I appreciate the mountain of work and responsibility they have taken on.

 Jnyusa, you are a marvel. 'nuff said.

Thank-you, everyone!

Rodia cake and an Athrabeth near-sw00n—great rewards indeed! :D

24-0 "yes" so far is not bad, either. . . .
