One piece of bad news to slightly mar this happy occasion:

I got an email informing me that Jn is having internet connection problems again, which is why our honourable honorary Mayor has not been around to celebrate our opening. :rage:

Thanks for the link - ahh, it's from the disco era - and recently re-opened.

Yes, Gibb is BeeGees - it sounded familiar, but I wouldn't have thought of it right now - not on my third glass of wine at early dawn. ;)

Not a great fan of disco here either, but better than a lot of today's stuff. ;)

Well, I just sent the first notice of this place out - to the ladies of Frodo's kitchen :cheers - the rest will have to wait till tomorrow, as my wine glass is empty and it's growing light pretty quickly outside, so I'd better get some sleep! :)

It's been an honour and a priviledge to spend this night with you all! :grouphug:
I didn't know I felt so strongly about this - well, it was a good deal of work to get here - keeping my fingers crossed that it works out alright - good night to you all! :)

Here at last! Welcome to all our new members.

Darnit, I wanted to releast 100 balloons at midnight and instead I was sitting here staring at an unconscious server.

I'm going to hire those unemployed Vikings from the Capital One commercial to pillage Verizon.

But for now ..... :cheers

Many hugs for all the b77ers. :grouphug:

We missed you very much, Jn!

The dancing girls were especially notable (see any post by Rebecca).

And some of our newly activated members are here and even posting! :D

I've no idea why I'm so happy about this (even if I missed the party), but it actually feels like a weight of my shoulders. :D

:thewave:

Thank you to all the committee members. I know you guys worked long and hard to bring this about.

Well, there was going to be a big WELCOME post from the Mayor, until I realized that the Mayor is locked up in Michel Delving

So here a magic link to the room with the magic carpet that turns wine stains into cookies. :)

Mayor’s Welcome

Jn

Y' know, Jn, I've kind of been wondering why the Mayor should be locked out of posting outside Michel Delving? :scratch

I mean, it's not as if we won't always know who it is. Are we afraid the Mayor will troll the Turf?

trolls the Turf, looking mean

:dragon:

I think it's just the idea of having a Mayor on the loose, you know ... Mayors have a way of running amok :P

Get your torches and pitchforks and get over there! The poor woman is chained to her desk!
