Though I don't have any standing here, I'm going to post to say that I think those threads should be deleted, and that an instruction to delete PM copy threads for votes that have ended should be added to the Ranger Handbook.

It seems obvious to me that that should be done—and that the fact that it isn't already built into the procedures is an oversight.

Eru's opinion is the one that really matters.

Erú, Alatar and my humble self finish our term tonight.

I de-admined Alatar and I hope there'll be a kind soul who'll de-admine me soon.

As Rodia and Holby are the ones who come next, I made them admins.
May I remind you as Mayor to change these threads:
The Ranger Pool
Jury Pool and Mediator Pool

Have fun, all of you.

Oh, and by the way - Gingerbread season is starting. I'm taking orders from now on - christmas is coming soon.......

Areanor,

You have been de-rangerized. I want to thank you and Alatar both for all of your help and hard work over the past three months. It’s been a pleasure working with you and a joy getting to know you a little better. I look forward to seeing around the board in normal street clothes and clean hair!

Here’s the Ranger shampoo. Now go get yourself cleaned up!

BTW, Aerenor gingerbread sounds positively scrumptious. Can anybody get on that list? :)

I've just seen Holby in yellow in the user-list! :Q

:D Welcome to the n00bs, good luck and have fun!

And a big thank you to Alatar and areanor for doing a great job!

(I think our three-months terms system is great! :Wooper: Just sayin', because I've repeatedly been thinking of all the advantages over other systems recently.)

(Oh, I had meant to ask - did you guys delete threads in sensitive info or so? Because I could swear my post-count went down. Not a problem, I'd just like to make sure I'm not hallucinating. :) )

Hobby,

Yes, I deleted the threads for the Article 6 and Wilko's thread vote count. Sorry about the post count.

In the instructions that I'm working on for counting these types of votes, it will tell the Rangers to post all of the ballots in those threads using the Administrator account. That way, when the threads are deleted nobody's post count will go down.

And as for Holby in yellow - I'm already scared. :Q

If you want a different avatar for the Mayor ID than the administrator ID, I've still got all the old banners I made.

I believe you liked the blue one with papyrus script Eru?

I only suggest it cause I go by avatars to identify ID's and got all confused ;) No need to use it though - just thought I would offer another option :)

Thanks, tinwe! :)

No problem about the post count as such. But it wouldn't have occurred to me this might be the reason if I hadn't seen the post on top of this page - so, I think it would have been nice to have been informed of the deletion - only because seeing yourself going through the same post numbers twice for no apparent reason can be a little, er, disconcerting! ;) :blackeye:
(What I mean is, if I hadn't seen the post I mentioned I would just have assumed I remembered my postcount wrong, and that's not a nice feeling. :) )

But I agree it would have been better to use the Admin account - laziness I suppose. ;)

A question for Jn and all recent rangers. In the mayor's yahoo email account, there are quite a few saved emails in the archives, but they're all the letters that have been sent to members (welcome, jury). Is there a reason why we need to keep these?

Rangers, this Friday a quorum needs to be calculated for the ToE vote. I wanted to give you all an advance warning. On Friday, one of you will need to figure out how many members have been active in the last month.

I believe Alatar wrote out instructions for doing so somewhere. I'll go check tomorrow when I'm not so tired.

I found what Alatar wrote out about calculating active users:

http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/viewtopic. ... d77#114245

Tinwe also posted his method two posts above Alatar's.

I hope there will be a Ranger who can do this tomrrow?

I'm sure you're quite capeable Holby! :D

Just to let the members know, three ranger terms are ending this month. The next people in line are Jynusa, vison, and MariaHobbit. Jn has said she was going to take the next term, but she hasn't been around so I'll wait awhile to see if she appears. If I haven't heard from her in a week or so, I'll contact the next person in line just in case.

Let's encourage these three to be kind enough to accept a term! :D

Eru, will the quorum be calculated for members active in the last month like you said, or in the last 60 days as is said in the "How to Calculate a Quorum" thread?

According to what I counted, the number of active members since Sep 15 is 175, and for the last 60 days as from today it's 213. RP characters plus the Mayor and Administrator accounts have been excluded.
