Hi everyone...

Well going back to the European side of the pond for this Xmas in the end...
We were planing to move a little; at first Rome but that crashed (tix too expensive) so we might actually take the car and do some things that are closest. We will certainly go and spend one day or two Bruges (Kaya ;)), maybe Geneva. More if we can but I don't want to look too far. Last summer we wanted to travel everywhere and it all fell apart  :(

Jae, my mum told me that a card had arrived from you :D :D :D :D. Can't wait to read it.

My cards will be leaving tomorrow for the US and Tuesday from France for the Europeans ;)... I'm missing one (possibly two) cards.

Sorry to post so little.

Thing are quite okay, though. It look like M. will get a new job at the university of Lausanne, and like I will be finally divorced next year. We prepare christmas and all I want is some sleep and rest: the last weeks have been crazy with work.

Eari, dis-moi si tu passes par Genève!!!!

Jae, I got your card. Thank you so much! I sent mine too (well for some of you, I had no adress, but for the others, I did send them, only they will arrive after christmas).

Lots of hugs.

Eari dear I hope you have a great time home for the holidays in Paris! Enjoy the running around that you can. I know what it feels like to not get the job you wanted or to be looking for so long and still have nothing happening about a new one.

Nin I sure hope that things can work out now for your divorce to be final. What a relief that will be for you both!

Leoba I sure miss you girlfriend!! I can't believe that I stay away for so long at a time.

Merry Christmas to all of you and a wonderfilled New Year!!!!

Well it seems that Xmas has brought in more than what expected

I did know it was coming but it was a surprise to my family and they were really happy for me.
I am now officially engaged :D
[ img ]
This is not my hand but the ring looks exactly like mine ;)
So we had champagne a day before Xmas...

Truth is that I was there to choose the ring. I haven't had any friends in Toronto who could tell anything about me and my taste in the matter to my bf (now fiancé) and even the others... I hadn't worn a ring in more than 10 years even I would not have known my ring size or taste . Except that I didn't want anything too big. So we went together and chose the ring.
But I couldn't tell anyone before my family ;) so you now you do ;)

So I was proposed last night behind Notre-Dame. Not too bad hey ;)

Wish you all merry Xmas today.

Conratulations Eari! I'm so thrilled for you.:D:D:D:D We received your card yesterday - thank you. If I'd known you were going to be back in Paris I'd have sent yours to your parents' address but, as it was, I didn't have an up to date address for you in Canada.

Nin, that's great about the divorce. Keeping everything crossed for you that it goes through smoothly. I know it's different when there are children involved, but I still hope it helps with giving some level of closure.

We had a lovely quiet(ish) Christmas, with just the two of us at home. It was a welcome relief after all the to-ing and fro-ing we've been doing in December, seeing family. Then we had people (family and then friends) in for food on Boxing Day and on 27th. Then it was back to work, although I managed to wangle today off (I had just enough flexi leave) and we've both booked the 2nd off. We have a massive family party coming up this weekend, to say au revoir to my cousin and her young family who are emigrating to Perth, Australia, next week! :(

Miss you all. :grouphug:

Have a great New Year's Eve and a Happy New Year! :drunk:

Hi everyone,

Happy New Year to you all. May 2009 shine for you and bring you everything you wish for.

Don, thanks, now that I have a pic of it (and me  ) as an avatar I guess you'll get a chance to see it. The problem with these things is 250pix is not much

Nin, la suite sera certainement pour 2010 pas avant, faut mettre un peu de sous de côté puisqu'il n'a plus ses parents et que si toute ma famille est là, ça va coûter cher
Et très joyeux anniversaire d'ailleurs, je suis en retard

Rune, thanks a lot. And yes, simple, that is what I wanted. Simple and not too big. On the pic it's a 1.15ct, which was far too big for me, mine is 0.7ct, which is perfect :D :D :D.

Leoba, :D :D thanks so much. I am thrilled too. Some friends thought it was time, but two years is not that much when you think about it. And for my address I was sure I had sent a PM   but then I may be wrong and it's highly possible I meant to send it and forgot. Alzheimer at 27 now that's new.

Eari, tu n'es pas en retard.

I had a lovely birthday today with a great cake - home-made, of course - and me too, I got a ring, although nothing so formal but with a very nice riddle on the package "In fact, rather something for Lords. But you know that better than me." An allusion of course, to the Lord of the Rings. It has a small saphit and a small ruby on it and is pretty.

And as I had school, I made a "king's crown" typical epiphany cake for my students and they were really nice and when walking across the school yard, dozens of students said "Happy birthday" to me -and I was happy.

The orcs had a "boum" tonight - a kind of party with songs and they danced - they grow, you know. I'll be forty in a year...

I'm glad to hear everybody's news.

It seems only yesterday that you were leaving your tweens. How did we all grow so old? :Q

I know... I was not yet 21 when I made it to TORC, it's crazy ...

Nin darling for some reason I had the 5 in my head   . My beloved is like 10 days older than you.

Back in Toronto after a long day and a 6hour delay (our connecting flight got cancelled) and without luggage... United Airlines :bang: :bang: but I will go back to my singing lessons next Tuesday :D :D :D
