All my attention is focused on staying upright and holding on to the dog. I'm not likely to attempt any photography of any sort.

Unless an owl parks itself nearby. I might just ask Feddy to hold still while I take my life in my hands. What could possibly go wrong?

The rain here has been of the unfrozen variety, which means the snow has mostly melted, which means I can walk my sled-dog descendant again. The time off has not made her more cooperative.

Last year the county did a lot of work on the gravel road that leads to our house. They used an awful lot of what looked like plain dirt which made dust a big problem.

Now that the big freeze has thawed and lots of rain has happened, the supposedly "gravel" road has turned into a mud pit. My little electric car can barely get through the worst spots. It slews sideways and gets pulled to one side by the mud. I'm really unhappy about this. Almost 30 years here and the gravel road has never been this bad before. I'm seriously worried about getting stuck in the mud.

This is our forecast, pretty much.
Although the worst of the storm will hit South of us, on the Central Coast and SoCal. Here, it's just with hey, ho, the wind and the rain.

They are putting gravel on our gravel road today! I suspect someone complained. I would have, but I kept forgetting once I actually got off the road.

The weather is nice here. It feels like spring, but it's two months early.

We have finally had some days of sunshine after weeks of gloom and grey (and much rain).

An atmospheric river with high wind. In the Bay Area, they said it was clocked at hurricane speed over the ocean for the first time ever.

As I said, it was mostly the Central Coast and south. Floods, mud slides, downed trees, the works.

They say it's historic but we had pretty much the same thing last year. Wind wasn't as bad but it hung around for weeks.

It feels like California has historic natural events happening every other month now.

Yeah. Where climate is concerned, there days million to one chances come up 9 times out of 10.

It is unclear whether what's happening right now should be described as sleet, hail, or a thunderstorm. It's kinda all 3 at once, and also 60F in February.

We just had a brief thunderstorm. Definitely was not expecting that.

Ahhhh, hitchhikers.....

It was cold and below freezing this morning. Now, at mid-afternoon: sunny and 12 degrees.

I can't wait until after work and taking Willow for a walk. In fact, I might just leave early and then work later after sunset.
