If we're going to do Japanese pop, we need streams. I don't know where to find that stuff.

Hopefully somebody will care about this...

Since Pips disappeared (:(), I thought I'd try and get this going. The song I wanted to do, I couldn't think of a way to get to others. So, in the meanwhile, I've had this song stuck in my head for weeks now and I thought I'd get others take on it. It's called "Postcards from Italy" and can be heard here:

Pips disappeared!!!

Pandora is missing too... Obviously there is a conspiracy against posters that have usernames that start with the letter "P". :Q

Their music definitely sounds European, I see that they're from Albania? I like their sound, especially the acoustic guitar. I'm not sure how I feel about the singer, but his voice does blend well with the music. I like how the song seems to focus more on the instrumentals, it felt to me as though the singer was just harmonizing instead of being the main spotlight of the song. It has a very mellow sound, but it's not really a background song, if that makes any sense. It's the sort of thing you'd listen to while lying on the beach and sipping a martini.

yov, about the other song you wanted us to hear, do you have the file somewhere on your computer? If so, yousendit.com will upload it for you and will have it available for others to download for about a week or so. :)

And Pips has been in Costa Rica for the last several weeks, but I think she just recently got back.

Like being indie should let them off the hook for not being good singers. :P

Its more tolerable than the original, but not as listenable. Which sounds weird. But I was always kind of split on the original anyway.

That's not necessarily bad singing as it is an indie singing style. A lot of my fav bands have singers in that vein.

Mm, I know. Depending on the voice, it might need a really nice melody or band to back it up, though. :P Sometimes they're just not that pleasing to mine ear.

Beautiful, yov! I really like the beginning to about 3/4ths of the way through. After that it gets a little too busy and peppy for my tastes. The first part of it was exquisite though.

So how does this thread work? Can anyone post a song for others to discuss?

It doesn't. So I just post whatever I feel like and pretty much everyone ignores me. See if you have better luck. :P

Poor yov! :(

I just now have discovered this! I love to listen and discuss music whether I have heard it before or not. Too bad that there isn't more people following this thread. I'll try to find a good song to discuss.

I haven't had the time to listen to any of it yet, Yov. I have downloaded it.

And I'm going to try to listen to it tomorrow while packing.

I'd love to share links, but I never know where to find mp3's, yov! And every time I tried to upload one to the b77 gallery, it wouldn't work. :rage:

Yeah E*. I have some music on CD, but wouldn't it be illegal to upload it for everyone else to download? So I don't know how to share music here. :(

The thing I've found is, I love to talk about music, but if people don't have very similar tastes and experience, good discussion is nearly impossible. It's hard far beyond just "I like it/I hate it".

youtube, btw, could be a good source for music as many bands put vids for their singles and such.
