I'm curious... just received a very tipsy-sounding IM from my ex (the hobbit who wasn't so loyal to me), who says that he is drunk from eating rum-filled chocolates. Is it even possible to get drunk off of them? If so, how many would he (the hypocritical bastard) have to eat to get drunk?

(Keep in mind that this is the guy who flipped out when I had 1 drink... he refused to even be near someone who had had an alcoholic beverage).

You've never even heard of rum-filled chocs Peeg? :Q

Ohhhhh you've missed something =:) I preferr Swiss Kirsch-staengeli... erm, little 'baton' shaped chocs with Kirsch inside (potent stuff made from cherries).

I've eaten a whole box of those once... and wasn't drunk. But I did get.. erm.. tipsy... by dipping bread in kirsch first before dipping it into Fondue
:LMAO:

Ture my guess is... he has a very sensitive constitution ;) ... or he's a good liar

I can imagine a small pet or a child maybe getting a little tipsy. But a full grown male - come off it!

He's having you on. And I have no idea why. There's nothing remotely brag-worthy about getting, or pretending to get, rat-arsed on run chocs. I'd laugh at him. :funny:

i should have been knocked out lots of times them from eating those.

If only he had said he drank a few bottles of rum. would be more believeable.

What a sissy

But no, I don't really buy it. Don't say he wasn't drunk, but most likely from something else than rum chocs... I mean, one 'has' to be, no sober person would get it in his head to go telling around one's drunk from a few rum chocs.

Might be down with some cold or flu though- not so tough to get drunk off one ginger beer then. Or if you're depressed. Or if you forgot to eat breakfast lunch and dinner.

*mmmm rum...*

Valid point, Ro. I'm getting drunk from one draught beer can now and that is because of the skipping breakfast and lunch thingy. My cats got food today but me not

Should go get something to eat ... I'm sure I have a few apples or something left somewhere ... :)

Nope, Alandriel.....we don't get 'em much down under, i'd say. One day, when i go to Switzerland, the first thing i'll look for is those rum-filled chocolates..... ;)

And i still think that was really funny, Lurea. Hey, maybe that was the point....not trying to get back into your good books, is he?

Maybe he is alergic to alcohol and was having a reaction to it, and thought he was drunk :damnfunny

Or sad and muppet are two other words that spring to mind when I hear your tale Lurea .

Mind you, I do remember working as a Christmas mail sorter for the post office and having to eat Balieys chocolates under the table because sombody had been escourted from the building the day before for eating rum truffels. Apparently it was illegal to sort mail under the influence of choco-alco-goodness :LMAO:

I want some rum chocolates!!!
I say as retribution for his evil actions we raid his house and steal the remainder and share the spoils equally among truly worthy consumers! =:)

Ive gotten tipsy from alkie filled chocolates before if I didnt have much food that day...
As for flat out drunk, I dont think its really possible given the high quantity of chocolate that would have to be consumed to guarantee the filling would be enough to get you drunk...in my opinion one would give up before that because of the sugar saturation.

Even with the size of my stomach, I'd get full up of chocolate before the rum would even begin to get me the tiniest bit tipsy.

Mind you, with all the alcohol-training I put myself through in 2003, my body's almost immune to the stuff. Almost.

LOL, you guys. Thanks so much. I figured that the chocolate would do him in first as well. He was indeed ill and hadn't been eating, so perhaps he was indeed tipsy.

No one from RL could even tell me anything about rum balls :P Best to ask Europeans and Board 77 folk ;)

Enchie, yes indeed, we should confiscate those rum chocs! He is quite undeserving :P
