Jae, Ags is right - you do look hot. Even when you're shivering with cold and looking like a drowned rat on Alandriel's doorstep, you are still one of the most attractive young women I know. Enjoy it.

Aww, darn...guess I'll have to go to a moot where there's lots of drinking going on...

Seriously, though, you are good looking...and hopefully Ag can pursuade you of that some day.

Okay, people! Buy loooads of Baileys, vodka and Bacardi...

Guru: I'm hoping the same. Meanwhile I'll just continue bragging to my friends about my hot girlfriend, and showing the great photo of her in my wallet...

DTG, I can understand what you went through; my mother would do that sometimes. Because I also used to be the fat one among the slim in my family. Well I'm still less thin than they all are but I care less now. I even wear bikinis (and no, not a chance you'll ever see one of those :P :P) whereas a couple of years ago, when I was about 125lb I didn't dare. I'm a little bit more now, but screw them!! And Jae, you do look hot in that . Beautiful one !!!

And I've found that when you reach some balance in your life, you lose weight because there's no need for you to compensate anymore. I know I did compensate a lot on food; when I had probs I would either stop eating and keep eating... talk about food disorder :P... Now, here in Canada, with a much more balanced life - no expectations but my own, sane relationships... - I've lost close to 20lbs since I arrived here and I didn't even go on a diet, just eat more balance and not worrying.

I think we'd be better off with our bodies without the people around; because it's all about the way people see us and sadly people do not look kindly on others most of the time. Was with friends yesterday at a party and there was a girl - a bit weird mind you - completely at ease with her body; she was wearing tight a tight T shirt that showed a bit of her belly. One of the people who was with us, at some point, said that she shouldn't wear something like that; that it looked ugly. Well what the heck!! She was feeling alright with it. And that is good for her, whatever others feel about it.

If I was honest, I would admit that a lot of my taking Tiger as a mascot in my life was to help me to bounce over hurt.

At 45 I have developed the theory : "I am what I am", like it or lump it.

even up until 5 years ago I was terribly shy and insecure around strangers, people thought I was stuck up or a snob. I wasn't I was just plain scared.

I felt ugly and stupid, and my laugh was ridiculed as a child, can you imagine being afraid to laugh out loud because when you did people mocked you?

Until just recently I never did, and I never smiled wide enough to show my teeth.

Until I turned 25 I had never once been told by my parents : "I am proud of you". I still got that telegram where my dad said it somewhere.

I have no hangups about body image, but I sure am constantly still striving to put behind me some negative self image problems. I fear rejection, and I detest failure.

It takes confidence to look the world in the eye and say : "this is me accept it, or get lost," finally I am getting that confidence in myself.

Having a Tigger to hide behind sure as heck helps though ;)

I have hips that would be more appropriate on an ancient fertility goddess than on a modern teenage girl. :Q This is extremely annoying and makes my body look slightly disproportionate.

I'm not visibly overweight, but I'm *supposed* to be a good athlete, and I weigh too much for that. The only person who has ever told me I needed to lose weight is my coach. Yet I've had semi serious weight loss *issues*. I've been eating sensibly, and I have lost weight. What makes me happy is not the weightloss itself, but the face that I can contol it. :)

Yes! That's the key--knowing the issue is really control over one's self. Then you can decide what you are happy with.

And welcome aboard B77! :cheers

I have overly large hips and thighs, which look ridiculous with my narrow shoulders and small chest. I am not fat, but I have to stay somewhat underweight so that I look even remotely proportionate.
I can deal with all of that, but I dilike my face more than anything. My features are overly sharp, and simply not attractive. That is always frustrated me, and probably the reason that I only attract losers.

No! Losers are attracted to a lack of self-confidence, mirroring their own.

What makes a woman attractive is her belief that she is. It radiates outward like a beacon.

You're quite right Ax.

I used to think that the reason I never attracted any guys was because I'm ugly. While I'm not the most attractive person, I know I'm not a hag. The problem is my lack of confidence and self esteem. I closed myself off and therefore really blew any changes of guys approaching me.

Funny how we can't figure out this sort of stuff until we're older. :P
