Well I was waiting on that. I figured it would drop once people saw it. I'll go see it for the same reason yov is going...nekkid men.

What rating did Sin City get?

I think this film is going to be great, even if it's just as eye candy. (And I'm not talking about the nekkid men, but the cinematography, fight scenes etc).

That's not the reason I'm going. I'm just figuring even if everything else is boring the sweaty manly-men should be enough to keep me entertained. :P

Fredericton made a liar out of me.

The theatre was PACKED when I arrived over an hour early and sold out. :( No Spartan peen for me. I hate weekend crowds so I'm skipping it tonight and will try for a matinee tomorrow.

Sigh. Would be nice to some day see a film before anyone else. :P Damn you, March break, damn youuuuuuuuuu!!!!

I had to stand in line to get tickets, but I got in to see the first showing of the day.

The movie, quite frankly, is superb. It's slightly stylized, and very much like Sin City in some of its slow-motion shots (with a few bullet-time effects reminiscent of The Matrix), but even so, the fighting is very well done and quite believable. The action scenes are incredible, and the actors work quite well together - there's plenty of humor sprinkled throughout the battle sequences, including a couple of hilarious quotes by Leonidas. There are also several excellent scenes involved Lena Headey, who plays Leonidas' wife.

And they knock his helmet off just so you know its him.

*E* The rhino is disappointing dont expect much if you havent seen it yet!

Anyway Spoilers probably will come below

The movie was superb, there were some ridiculous spots that were basically from other movies though. Gladiator and Brave Heart to be exact :P The rolling wheat fields, mother and child waiting for daddy....yup that was Gladiator man. And the BraveHeart scenes were basically anytime a commander was speaking to his soldiers :P But thats basically any war type movie so its ok there. Lets see....I dont know its just plain fun times, good acting, though they all like to yell in that movie and a few times the sound was just too loud, like the kind where it hurts because its so loud. Somebody likes eyes that look all glazed over too, kinda weird.

EDIT: Yeah the recruitment part was just fucking ridiculous...I mean seriously...whos being fooled there?

but thats all

Yes Xerxes seemed a bit drag queenish to me.

Wasnt too impressed with the CGI wolf in the beginning. Or the Rhino.

 the six pecks....The story was a bit lacking but the movie is a fine piece of eye candy. David looks goooood, as does Gerard, hell all the Spartans look good.

I thought the priests looked a bit like Palpatine from SWs though.

I thought it was a fun movie. The fight scenes were very well done. :D

I was pretty jealous of all those six packs myself...

And we finally have a movie I can use the word gratuitous to describe it and not referr to violence or sex! You heard it here first. This movie is rated R for gratuitous weirdness. :P

Spoilers

That guy with the blades grafted to his arms and no hands. :Q Think about how he had those implanted. :scarey:

The priest licking the orical was discusting!

The immortals were cool. Not as cool of the Sparten's of course.

Loved the part where Leionides's wife took care of that jerk off traitor herself. :)

The Rino part was pretty short. :(

And yes the King Xerxes did look a bit girly. Maybe it was the waxed eyebrows? Huge hands though.

Spoilers

I thought it was going to backfire when she ended up sleeping with him. But I think he definitely put her in a position that could be construed as forced intercourse. He had said that he would expose her with the other senator person ect. I am glad in the end that he was exposed as a traitor and she killed his sorry ass.

I am thinking of going to see it again, simply because I am not sure I liked the CGI elephants, wolf and rhinos. I did not like the wolf at all, looked way to fake to me, I was like right, thats not real at all. Its not like they couldn't had a real black wolf and worked the yellow eyes into the scene.

As for Xerxes, I don't really have a problem with him being as tall as he was. If I remember correctly the historic royal family of Iran/Persia was supposed to be really tall, the descendants of the race of giants and all. Plus I think his name has always reminded me of Herpes, I know weird ain't it.

And did anyone else notice how hairy David's hands were? I didn't notice that in the LoTRs movies.
