It's funny how about 20 minutes after I mentioned that I haven't had any problems with my ear lobe piercings for a while, my left ear is tender.

I've cried a thousand oceans, and I would cry a thousand more if that's what it takes to sail you home.

Antiseptic!

My left ear is the well-behaved one. Maybe cuz I sleep on my right side more and it irritates that ear.

Yeah...I've already washed it. :Wooper:

I think I toss and turn so much that I can't say which side I sleep on. :damnfunny:

Oh, I wake up with the sheets wrapped around me a good few times, but I'm on the right side more because that's the side my CD player isn't forever blinking 12:00...

A Prince Albert would be good. After all we have a statue dedicated to Prince Albert right in the centre of Wolverhampton.

Ok woah... what on earth kind of campus did you live on??? Did they also make sure everyone had done their homework and was tucked up by 9pm? Did you have to be escorted to class by some never-got-married, aged bitter hag in case a boy tried to talk to you? Did you have to wear skirts long enough to cover your ankles? Did they check your underwear drawers and confiscate anything that could be construed as 'saucy'? Were you only allowed one glass of buck's fizz on your birthday?

Want more? I could go on lol.

In other news, now i'm pretty tempted to get my nose done... mother will not be happy. ;)

No, the skirts just had to cover your knees.

And actually, it was much stricter in the past. :LMAO:

Leafy, I also have to ask what you will do with stuff you did now while you were young and then end up regretting in say the next decade? Do you really want those holes and tattoos if you have them? I ask now, because what seems really "in" has a seriously creepy way of being out down the road, and if it involves your body, there may come a day where you regret the decision. Just sayin. :)

Punch a hole in your nose or your eyebrow or your tongue? And, when you are forty and might have a family, you want THAT stupid reminder staring you in the face every day? I mean it!! Those holes do not go away on their own, you would need to pay for cosmetic surgery.

As far as those "other piercings" I again would caution, what one does "today" all too often comes back to bite you in the butt or other places, so why do it to begin with?

When did mutilating your beautiful body become some sort of "status" thing? It WILL go out of fashion yet again, so why put yourself in that group of the "We did it then but now we want to reverse it and get rid of it" bunch to even start with? :Q

No, I'm not.

Back in the 70s females couldn't wear their hair down.

There are lots of rules that are still in force...:P Not that one, though, thankfully.

Oh gosh no. I may be young, but I would never permanently mark my body in a way i won't be able to hide in 20 years, just for the sake of a trend, or to rebel against my parents or gain 'status' or any of that bullcrap. Body mutilation for that purpose is for idiots. I'm not really into tattoos or extreme facial piercings, and neither are my friends, so I wouldn't be following a trend anyway. i'm really quite a good girl. ;)

I know older women who used to have their nose pierced, and all you can see of it now is a tiny brown dot the size of a pinhead. It looks like a freckle. :) I just thought a little diamond might look pretty, that's all. I think if people want to get piercings or tattoos, it should be for the same reason women wear makeup - to enhance what they already have, not to make a statement.

I made the joke about Dawnnamira's campus because rules like that are absolutely unheard of here - i live in a hall of residence at the minute, and the only rules are: keep it down after 11pm on weeknights, and keep your kitchens tolerably clean. It just seems bizarre to me.

It never really was my campus. I just lived there while my Mom worked there. And she didn't like it either. We were the rebels of the campus...we let people watch R-rated movies at our house.

I don't think I could handle a nose piercing. I have almost constant sinus problems, so I imagine it would be quite hard to deal with a piercing...
