The publication put out by our local electrical cooperative had a story about a little girl who was born blind and can only be cured by a medical procedure developed in China using stem cells.

I think it's terrible that she has to go somewhere else for this, and insurance won't even help pay. It's yet another sign of the US falling behind in technology.
I've also heard that hip replacements are a heck of a lot better if one has them done in India. They use a better technique there, one that is not approved for use here.
This article is distressing on many levels.
