I like the sound of hath over has anyway. More poetic when it comes to rhyme.

If I can recite little bits of Shakespeare here and there, I can remember a short rhyme about months. Granted, I remembered the month rhyme before I was memorizing Shakespeare. Perhaps it's my artsy dominating Right brain.....art and language and all. Sticks more than counting knuckles. Numbers are too left brain and logical/analytical.

I learned it as hath as well.

I think I usually say something at the end like:

All the rest have 31, except for you know which one.


Not very poetical, but it works for me.

I think we say

excepting February,
which alone has 28,
except in Leap Year,
Once in Four,
when February gets one day more.

In Spain we also do the knuckle thing.

I know Alatar's version. Maybe it's the Irish version?

I've heard Alatar's version, but I never bothered to memorize the last part. I figure with the "all of the rest have 31 except for you know which one" covers all I need to remember, i.e., February is the odd ball. Then it's easier to remember that it has 28 days except for every four years.
