Oh, Lali! FAIL!
I adore that film. I never tire of it.
I thought the guy playing young Spock was really good but the rest were just, you know, generic cuties.
I thought everyone was beautifully in character.
It really truly reminded me of Galaxy Quest. Maybe they did that on purpose?
That wouldn't surprise me.
I was particularly reminded of
Galaxy Quest when Sulu hits warp drive for the first time, only for the brand new shiny
Enterprise not to budge from the docking station
much to his embarrassment, and Captain Pike says to him, quirking a quizzical eyebrow: "Is the parking brake on?"
Captain Pike rocked.
They
all rocked. The whole film rocks.
First time round, I only had eyes for Spock
but I wouldn't say no to Chris Pine's Kirk if he tried to pick me up in a bar.
I really liked how Pine nailed Kirk's arrogance and yet made him likable.
The opening sequence makes me all mushy. Brave George Kirk, Captain for just 12 minutes and saving 800 lives, including his wife and baby Kirk.
And I love Nimoy.
