Rare lethal poison frogs bred at Portsmouth aquarium
Quote:
"Despite their deadly status, it is hoped that the phantasmal poison frog could one day help save lives," Ms MacFarlane added.

"Scientists have discovered that an extract from the skin of the phantasmal poison frog Epipedobates tricolor can block pain 200 times more effectively than morphine, and without addiction and other serious side effects."

I'm interested in knowing what studies are being done with the poison.

I know, and that's a very good thing! It's just hard to see all of that hard work destroyed in a split second. Plus the cost of it all. :(

This takes a bit to load, but it's totally worth it! Brilliant animation, and brilliant programming!

Scientists create partially synthetic bacterial cell

It's not the same as making life from scratch, but it's kinda cool all the same. :)

That creeped me out. I actually got breathless as I scrolled down!

I liked it. My older daughter lives at the "low clouds (cumulus)" level.

I thought it was cool, but I can relate to Alatar, too. I started to feel really claustrophobic as I scrolled down, but then I just thought how amazing this world is. I am fascinated by the deep ocean, too, so it was neat. Amazing.

I'm only about 400 feet below her, elevation wise.

And I live at the bottom of the "fog" layer. Elevation about 5 feet. :P

Cool image.

That is really amazing!

I can't help but think of the hymn:

This is my Father's world,
and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings
the music of the spheres.

Does that have any relation to the whole 'no sound in space' thing? :uhoh:

I do not understand the science, but the sounds are very pretty. I've played a few ambient CDs that are like it. :D
