I believe the scenario he's describing is the plot for some movie that had Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler, and Ben Affleck in it whose title escapes me ("Armageddon"?).
It reminds me of the reporter that did an interview with Cate Blanchett as she was preparing for the role of Galadriel, and not being familiar with the book, did some quick research at the Flying Moose site, and didn't realize that they were a satirical site. So the following appeared in the London Sunday Times article:
For the uninitiated, Galadriel is the good sister of the evil but beautiful Queen Beruthiel, who imprisons the Fellowship of the Ring in the forest of Lothlorien. In the book, Galadriel frees them from her sister's clutches.
Serves that girl right if she hands that paper in. At least she'll give the teacher a good laugh.
